Dean rolled his eyes and shoved his phone back in his pocket. It never fails he's mother always messaged him within the hour of wanting to meet him then made a huge deal of it when he doesn't show. Their family have been members of the country club since before he was born so he knew it took at least a week to get a table during lunch there.
Snapping off his latex gloves he looked around the exam room that is their crime scene and sighed. He didn't regret making Ben go home after his breakdown, he knew his partner needed to be close to his wife right now after this morning.
Damn did he hate working with the CSI team alone. The message on the wall taunted him, who is the 'she?' When is next? Not a shred of evidence left behind that points to either of those answers.
The killer was taunting them.
"Finish up here and have an initial findings report on my desk by this afternoon," Dean instructed the team as he walked out of the room.

Dean slipped his credit card into the waitress's hand as she went to place the check on their table. She nodded to him quickly and stepped away.
"Mother as great as this has been, you don't just want to do lunch out of the blue. Why are we really here?"
Natalia shook her head with a smile, "can't I just have lunch with my son? I haven't seen you in what feels like forever."
"Look," he sighed, "I'm sorry I haven't been by lately, I'm in the middle of an important investigation it's been very time-consuming."
"Oh?" Natalia smirked, "is that what they're calling it nowadays."
Dean furrowed his brows at his mother in confusion.
"I know about the girl, Dean," she began, pausing to see if he would deny it. When all he did was clench his jaw and sit back in his chair she continued. "Well? nothing to say for yourself."
"There's nothing to say."
"Your birthday is in no less than six months," she snapped.
"Not this again," he let out an irritated sigh.
"Yes, this again. We should be knee-deep in wedding plans and you're still wafting around," Natalia Hissed, "It's time for you to be serious and stop playing these schoolboy games."
Before Dean could respond the waitress returned with an apologetic look, "I'm sorry sir, your card declined. Would you like to try another?"
"That's impossible," the card was linked to his trust fund there was no way it was in negative standing unless...
"Mother what did you do?" He snapped watching her hand the waitress her card.
"What I deemed necessary Dean," she said with a smile, "you're cut off."
"You can't do that!"
"Oh, but I can, I spoke with the lawyers last week. There was a byline in your father's will. If you appear to not have any interest in taking over the company within six months of your deadline, I have every right to freeze and remove your assets," She informed him with a smile, "Your Apartment and Truck are still on the McGuiere accounts as well. Those will be repossessed by the end of the week if you continue to refuse."
"Are you kidding me!" he fumed.
"No, I'm quite serious Dean," she snapped, "I'll not have the company your father worked so hard to build thrown down the drain just because you'd rather play cops and robbers."
"I can't ask Rachel to marry me, mother, it's too soon," Dean sighed in anger. It's not that he didn't want to marry her. Hell, he was ready to get down on one knee after that first night but there was no way she would have said yes. It has only been two months!
"Dean," the smile on Natalia's face made chills run down his spine. "You have until Wednesday at eight am to come to your senses. We have a meeting at the bank to finalize the paperwork."
"I thought you said the end of the week!"
"No, I said I'll have your things collected by the end of the week. Enjoy the rest of your day dear."
He sat in shock as his mother signed the credit card slip, thanked the waitress and left. By Friday he would be broke and homeless if he didn't have a ring on his girlfriend's finger by tomorrow night.
"FUCK," he yelled out causing every head in the restaurant to turn to him.

Ben was going through the reports from the morning when Dean stormed in. He watched him throw his briefcase on his desk, grab a piece of junk mail and throw it in frustration as he plopped down in his chair.
"Rough morning?" he asked.
"SHIT!" Dean yelped in surprise, "what the hell man? I thought I told you to go home."
Ben chuckled "yeah, then my wife told me to go away. Said I was smothering her, that she couldn't sleep while I was sitting there staring at her."
Dean Gave Ben a tight smile while nodding his head, "right."
"Back to you," Ben waved his hand dismissively in the air, "what's up?"
His head lolled backward as he let out a sigh and closed his eyes, "my mother, requested my presence at lunch today."
Ben sucked his teeth and grimaced, "ouch, that's never good."
"You have no idea," Dean groaned while he covered his face with his palms.
Ben knew about the McGuiere ultimatum, it was something Dean and he discussed every year on his birthday. He knew Dean honestly thought he would have been married by now. He watched his best friend straighten up in his chair quickly and point his finger at him.
"You know the worst part about all of it!" He began, "she found a loophole, A LOOPHOLE!"
"Wait, what?" Ben asked confused.
"Yeah!" Deans voice squeaked, "because I have made no effort to be married or take over the company, she froze my assets!"
"All of them?"
"Yup! I officially have to go home tonight and ask my girlfriend of two months to marry me," Dean sighed and put his elbows on his desk and began running his fingers through his hair, "I mean, it's not like I haven't thought about it. But it's too soon, then again it's not like I have a choice. I'm so screwed man."
"Why can't you just ask Chief to ask the board to just start paying you," Ben said, "this way you don't have to rush things with Rach and basically tell your mom to go fuck herself. You've been putting off the company for a while now it's not like you WANT to run it. If you get married and comply to her, you won't be working here."
Deans head snapped up quickly, "yes! you are a genius, this is why you're my best friend."
Ben chuckled and shook his head as Dean jumped up and headed to Chief Moore's office.
