Kendall huffed into Jennifer's room and plopped down in the nearest seat.

"Got you too, eh?" Asked Christian Clare, Jennifer's Oldest brother.

"Yeah Dean just returned with that same exact sour expression," added Alex. They had joined her soon after Kendall and Dean were escorted off to exam rooms. But not before assuring their mother they would text her the moment they knew anything so she would go home and rest.

"Fucking tease, that woman is," grumbled Kendall.

"I hear ya," Agreed Dean, "although I didn't do more than look like a drooling fool. I haven't the slightest idea what happened back there."

"I don't know, I think I kind of like her," Laughed Christian at his friends' expense. "I can't wait to meet this chick."

"If she can do this to you two just to get a DNA sample, imagine what..." Alex started but stopped when he saw the death glare he was receiving from his sister he had completely forgotten where they were for a minute.

A knock on the door broke the sudden tension in the room.

"I have a hungry little boy who's ready to see his mommy," came the sweet voice of a nurse gently pulling the baby into the room.

Jennifer shoo'd them all out so she could have her first try at breastfeeding her newborn son.

Dean looked down at his nearly dead phone, six in the morning, "I've never been happier to have so much vacation time stacked up." He looked around at the group of guys he'd spent the last sixteen hours with.

"How is it Christian is the only one who doesn't look like he's been to hell and back," Dean asked.

"Because his ass cheated and went home sometime around hour two and only got back like an hour ago," pouted Alex.

"Hey! don't go there, little bro. The nurse said it would be a while," he began, "I simply took advantage of the fact that I wasn't a possible baby-daddy or obsessive twin brother and went home, slept, showered, and ate. Besides, I offered you a ride and my couch."

"I'm not obsessive," grumbled Alex.

"Ehhh... you kinda can be," confirmed Kendall getting a glare from Alex. "Oh, come on dude. When I asked you if I could ask your sister to marry me I thought it was insane. I'd already asked your dad and he said ,'if Alex approves' how is that not obsessive."

"That's protective!" argued Alex.

"Wait, whoa! You asked Jen to marry you? When the hell did this happen?" asked Dean.

"A few months ago, I think it was around the time Ben had his kid, so you were distracted," answered Kendall.

"Huh..." smiled Dean, "well that's awesome man, congratulations. Also, if your DNA doesn't match; run away and elope immediately."

"What?" laughed Christian.

"I couldn't be more serious," Dean shook his head, "my mother is determined to make sure I marry Jen if he's mine. No offense buddy but the last thing I want is to be tied to a drunken hook-up. You two have been on and off for the last six years, I'd feel like crap if I wife'd your woman."

The nurse stepped into the waiting room and informed the group that they may return to the room if they had wished. Baby Clare had eaten well and was now sleeping soundly in his mother's arms.

"You really should get some sleep babe," Kendall said lightly to Jennifer while brushing her bangs away from her eyes.

"As soon as we hear something about the tests I will," she replied while yawning. "He needs a name and I have two different choices in mind depending on who his daddy is."

"It doesn't matter what those tests say, Jen," nodded Dean, "We all know Kendall is gonna be one hell of a dad to that little boy no matter what."

"That was really sweet," smiled Rachel from the doorway startling all of them. "Sorry the door was open, I wanted to make sure you got your results before I went home."

Her eyes scanned the room, "would you like to hear this in private?"

"No," Jennifer shook her head quickly, "everyone here is family. They'll find out sooner or later."

"Wait, this is the doctor you guys were complaining about?" Asked Christian with a smirk while reaching out his hand "Hi, I'm Christian Clare, Jennifer's single older brother, and I was just wondering are you available for breakfast?"

"Umm..." She began unsure of how to respond but accepted his handshake, Kendall and Alex laughed while Dean's jaw clenched tightly. "I'm flattered, but I just worked a seventeen-hour shift. Honestly, I'd really just like to fade home and crash."

"No worries, figured if you can get these two riled up; you might be someone I'd like to know."

Rachel tilted her head to the side and smiled innocently, "I'm not sure what you mean."

Dean's eyes narrowed as he looked from Rachel to Christian and back. He suddenly didn't like him making her smile, flirting, or the idea that the two of them... "god I need sleep," he thought.

"No offense," Dean interrupted, "but, mind telling us who's last name this kid gets."

"Of course, congratulations Mr. Wakefield you have a healthy baby boy."

Dean sighed with relief while Jennifer squealed at the news.

Rachel smiled and nodded her head, "if you need anything page the nurse, oh and gentleman I'd like to apologize about the collection swabs. Those exam rooms were built with a damping spell embedded into the walls, it helps with argumentative children who refuse shots. They were the only ones available at the time. Hope you didn't mind."

Laughter erupted once more as she shut the door behind her.
