A week and come and gone since she had uttered the title of 'Father' to the good doctor and it hadn't been stated by either since that moment. It was almost as if the word had never left her lips, or like a dream rather than reality.
She pressed her forehead upon the chilled glass of her window as drops of rain ran down. Elia sighed letting the air from her lungs fog up the glass for a few moments. Lecter had pulled her from school knowing it to be a horrid idea to leave her there in this condition. Though it left her with little to do when he was out working with his patients.
Now and again she exited the home and wandered the streets, but today wouldn't be one of those days. She hated to be caught out in the rain. Something about the cold wet weather caused the female to become rather upset. She couldn't even place the reasons to this herself. It was simply a fact when it came to this being.
Elia left her room and started to move about the home slowly trying to find something to keep her attention. Books? No she had read most of them already and those she hadn't didn't intrest her. Watch T.V? Most likely nothing would be on. Cook? Hannibal did all the cooking in the house so she tended to stay away from the kitchen. She was about to head back to her room when something caught her eye.
A stack of rather large papers resting upon the counter with a few penciled and some lead laying beside them. Her curiosity peaked in an instant. The good doctor was an artist? Carefully she lifted one of the pages from the hard surface and took in what was upon the thin object in her hands.
It was breath taking. The drawing was from the veiw of a balcony looking over smaller buildings It would appear to be homes and stores. It had a cozy feel to it. It the distance mountains dotted the view that engulfed the sun giving the appearance of it setting. Elia felt as though she were there. In the back of her mind it began to fill her senses with the details. She could smell the freshly baked bread from one of the shops below and hear soft chatter of people that weren't really there. Reaching out her index finger she moved it over the lines slowly letting this drawing consume her further.
"Do you like it?" the voice called from the doorway and broke her from the spell. Looking away from the paper Elia locked eyes with Lecter instantly. Quickly she placed the page down feeling her cheeks getting hot, slightly embaressed from beeing caught going through his things.
"It's rather lovely." she whisered.
He gave a small smile that almost seemed as though he were supressing the rest of it as Lecter stepped into the room. "You still didn't answer my question, do you like it?" She paused for a moment thinking over the question. Scaning for any other meanings within. That's how this always worked right? Elia bit her lip knowing he'd want an answer soon. "Ellie?"
"Yes! I like it." she blurted then quickly felt a mix of shame and fear pour into the knot forming in her stomach.
"Then it is yours." The Good Doctor responded with a smile. "Lunch will be ready soon, what are you in the mood for?"
