She prepared to attack

Archer: No, you don't!

He drew a mirror from behind him and held it against her

She transformed into her gargoyle form, flew, and attacked

He easily dodged and grabbed her wrist, then her whole body. She struggled but he was much much stronger

Archer: Surrender, you've already lost. Everyone has, you're the only one left fighting

Avery: Never!

Archer sighed: Then you give me no choice

He delivered a hard blow to the back of her head and her gaze went black

When she came to, she was tucked in bed in a strange room and her head really hurt. She rubbed the back of her head and winced. There was a lump a size of a golf ball there

Archer: How're you feeling?

She made as if to jump out of bed but she was so dizzy she fell again

Archer: Careful.. You're not well yet

Avery: And who's fault is that?

Archer: You know if I hadn't knocked you out you wouldn't have come along willingly

Avery hmphed

Avery: Alec!

Archer: He made it out unharmed

Avery: You let him go?!

He shrugged: He's not a threat

Avery: Why did you target our base? And how did you know about it?

Archer: It was nothing personal. Any resistance or uncontrolled hybrid group is considered a threat by pure bloods, you know that. As for how we found it. There've been rumors for ages but no one could found it. Then I was around, staged a pursuit with some guys and the nymphs brought me in

Avery: Where are the others?

Archer: That's of no concern to you now

Avery: Of course it is!

He gave her a cold look: No, it's not

He left, and she was kept thinking: So this is how it feels.. No wonder they were all scared of me

She sighed
-----------------------------------------------------------

Crystal: You're awfully chatty. Don't forget she's a prisoner

Archer: How can I forget

Crystal: Careful, friend. If I didn't know any better I'd think you sympathize with them

He sighed: Where's this going, Crys?

Crystal tsked: Short tempered.. Why didn't you tell her she was the main reason we were interested in their base?

Archer sighed: You were eavesdropping. Why am I not surprised? That would have broken her. She wouldn't be any good to us if her spirit was completely broken

Crystal: Is that so? Well, you've always liked them spirited

He shook his head and left
-----------------------------------------------------------

Avery was sitting on the bed, thinking, when the door to her lavish prison chamber opened. She turned and saw a tall elegant woman, with silky black hair and blue eyes so light, they reminded her of the ice forming over a lake in winter

Avery: Who are you?

Crystal: Does it really matter? Becoming familiar with your captors isn't wise. After all, you might develop Stockholm syndrome

Avery Snorted: On the contrary, it's best to know your opponents hopes, dreams, weaknesses..

Crystal gave her a cool look: You might find that information unsatisfying, or troubling

Avery: What are you? You're both very similar, so you must be from the same species

Crystal smiled lazily: Observant..

Avery: Well? Tell me that at least. I'll find out eventually

Crystal was still smiling: Why don't you ask him?

Archer entered so silently she hadn't heard him

He gave Crystal a scolding look, she just smiled at him: I'll be off then
