For several days it was like this, Avery would spar with Jaera, and either she won, or it ended with them both collapsed on the ground. She'd tried losing, even though it hurt her pride but it didn't work, Jaera would just continue pummeling her abd Avery didn't like getting beat up. If she was going to she would at least give as bad as she got

The hostility between them never lessened, in spite of Avery's attempts to be nice to the others

Avery's stubbornness in continually trying to talk about her life before the dragon base didn't help. She kept broaching the subject, even though the others were uneasy whenever she did. Jaera's weathering glares to whoever glanced Avery's way or returned a greeting didn't help either

It was getting tiresome, going everyday to Amelia over what Avery thought of as childish fights, but the damage wasn't that of a children's fight

The only benifit of it was getting to know Amelia, and by extension, Archer, better

Finally the dragon King put and end to all. He summoned Archer one day and ordered him to take on Avery's training

Dragon King: Your find seems to have learned everything she can from Jaera. If she's going to be of use to us, she needs to learn more. And it falls on you to train her farther, after all you're the one who brought her here

Archer bowed his head in submission and murmured his excuses. He turned to leave

Dragon King: Oh, and Archer

He turned back: Your majesty

The dragon King smiled: Do not go easy on her

Archer's hand gripped: Yes your majesty

That day Avery was surprised he was the one coming to get her

She asked: What about training?

She muttered: Not that I enjoy training with Jaera..

He answered without turning: From now on, your training is going to be with me, his Majesty's orders

Avery: Oh..

Once they reached a secluded area he faced her, and she didn't like what she saw. His face was expressionless, his silver eyes cold, while usually they was at least a hint of warmth there

Avery: Is everything alright?

He ignored her: Get ready

She stood there, motionless

He pounced on her, she was hit on the shoulder

She fell: Hey! What is the matter?

He replied with the appearance of calm: Get up, and this time be prepared

She got up, and dodged when he attacked this time, but barely..

He was faster than Jaera

She could feel he held back when he was attacking, otherwise she would be severly injured, or dead even

By the end of their training session, she was extremely exhausted, could barely walk towards Amelia's infirmary, and despite his holding back, she was injured. It was a good thing she healed fast

Amelia looked pained when she was treating her, but put on a brave face, and while she was wrapping her shoulder, Avery spotted Archer watching from a distance. He looked anguished, his eyes had a Sheen to them

When he saw her look at him he hurriedly retreated
