Hazel Princeton. Yep, that is my name, and ever since I was born, I have always lived in boring hot Austin, Texas. My dad just got a promotion, and now I'm leaving tomorrow to live all the way in Canada. I'm going to miss my best friend Brandy and my boyfriend, Luke. But before I leave, I have to break up with him. We only just started dating, and just when my life is at its ultimate best, I have to leave. I hope the people in Canada are friendly and...the boys are hot. I hear someone yelling, so I rush downstairs with a box of books.
"Hey! Don't crack that mirror it's my daughters!" My dad yells at the movers.
I go put the box in the truck that will be leaving before us since they have to put all our stuff on a particular plane that goes to an airport three hours away from our new house. I get ready for bed and pull up my window.
Since Brandy lives next door, we talk through our windows, "Hey Haz, I'm going to miss you tons. You're the most wonderful best friend I ever had. I will be so lost without you. You better come back and visit!" She yelled.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll call you the day after tomorrow and send you pictures of the new house. See you in the morning."
I turn off my light and stare at my empty lavender color walls listening to 5 seconds of summer on full blast. I think about how my life will change in Canada. I close my eyes and dream of the future...
**********
I wake up with my door bursting open and someone jumping on my bed.
"Wake up Hazel! Wake up!" My little sister Katherine yelled knocking me off the air mattress.
"Okay! Calm down Kat!" I shriek back.
I go to the bathroom to take a quick shower and then throw on pink Victoria Secret running shorts and a plain white spaghetti strap tank top. I put on my light beige Sperry's and walk down the stairs. My little brother nearly knocks me over when he rushes past me.
"Hey! Watch were you're going Tommy!" I snapped.
"Hazel be nice with your brother, he's only four. I expect you to be well behaved during the plane ride. It's isn't going to be that bad in Canada, you'll see." My mom lectures me as if I'm like one of her patients.
Anyway, I run outside to my best friend and give her a hug goodbye.
"I'm sure going to miss you Haz! Don't forget about me. Promise?" She cries.
"I promise, and who could forget about you, Brand. I love you like a sister. Let's not say goodbye, okay? Let's just say see you later."
I walk to the cab and open up the door. My sweaty older brother is already sitting in my seat, so I go to the other side. My older brother Mike is 17 and such a pest. He plays football and always 'hooks up' with girls. While, all the girls just think he is a player and instead gets as far away as they can from him. Anyway, we leave for the airport. An hour later, our plane boards, and I get stuck sitting next to Mike. Yay. The plane departs, and we are off to Canada.
