Check out my new book Hiding.

I woke up the next morning and it was pretty early, like 6 o'clock early. I went to the bathroom quickly and brushed my hair and teeth, then I heard my stomach rumble and I knew I needed food as soon as possible.

I went downstairs and saw Noah playing on his phone that he didn't even notice me walking by. I went to the kitchen and found a granola bar and thought it would work until I went to the local IHop around 8 or so.

I go through the kitchen door and into the living room to not only see Noah but also some girl with curly hair sitting on top of him and sucking his face off.

"Oh.." I said and her head snapped my way and she eyed me up and down and with a frown.

"And who is this?" She asks Noah and he smiles over to me and waved.

"Morning Dani." Noah says and I force a smile at him.

"Wish I could say the same thing." I said once I scrunched up my nose and sat down at the living chair facing the tv.

"I should of knew it." The curly haired girl said as she stood up and pointed an accused finger at me while I turned on the tv. "You're sleeping with her!" She shout and my eyes widened in horror.

"What?" I say.

"No, Jess." Noah says in a bored tone. "You've got it all wrong." He seriously sounds like this is a joke.

What if curly decides to attack me with her ten inch nails? I wonder how she got her nails that long...

"They were right!" She shout. "You are a player!"

Noah shrugged his shoulders, "Okay." He said as he got up and took the remote from my hands and put on Law & Order.

"Ugh!" The girl stomped her legs on the floor like a child and walked out the front door.

"What the hell, Noah?" Tori's tired voice shout from the stairs. "How many times do I have to tell you, don't bring the weird ones home." She said and Noah smirked at his mom.

"My mistake, mom." His smirk vanished when she gave him a warning look. "Sorry." He apologized and Tori mumbled her way back upstairs.

"A player?" I ask him and he just smirks and looks down and I couldn't help but frown at him, I couldn't even look at him.

How many girls has he been with since I left. "Yeah, you can call it that." He replies and I look up to him and slowly shake my head.

I slowly open my granola bar and tried to ignore Noah for the rest of the time until I decided to go out and get some fresh air.

When I get out I instantly feel like I traveled back in time. I became jealous of the winters here, they were never as bad like the ones I would experience in NYC every year. But here there was barley any snow and the only thing cold was the wind but the sun was hot so it kept you warm.

I took a fresh breath of the cold air and decided to take a walk around maybe around the block like Mike, Noah and I always used to when we were kids.

As I walked I kept looking around and seeing how some people changed their siding color or added new windows or even just colored their mail box. It felt weird walking around here again after 4 years, it felt like I was a stranger.

When I got closer to Noah's I saw Mike outside with his hands in his pockets and he was just swinging back and forth slightly, looking up at the sky.

When I got closer I decided to call out his name, "Mike!" His head snapped over to me and he jogged his way next to me.

"Hey, where'd you go?" He asks me. "I texted you.."

"I left my phone inside, sorry." I said. "And just went for a walk around the block to see how things changed." I said and he nodded his head.

"You sure it had nothing to do with Noah's little scene this morning?" He asks me and I give him a confused glance.

"No?" I say. "Why would I go for a walk after that?"

"Cause you're jealous..." He mocked and I smacked his arm.

"No I am not." I said in complete honesty, okay, not complete- maybe I did kind of hope that was me instead of her... MAYBE! "Just wanted to walk for no reason."

"Mmhmm.." Mike said and I glared at him.

How could he accuse me of something that was partially true? Who does that?

"Seriously, Mikey." I said in all seriousness. "I have a boyfriend I don't need to go around worrying about someone else." I said and Mike nodded his head.

"By the way, Tom called you." Mike said and my eyes lit up.

"He did?" I ask and Mike nodded his head and I quickly ran inside and up to my room to get my phone.

I looked at my screen to see I had a missed call and text from Tom, the text read,

Sorry, I fell asleep early last night. Call me when you're up? Love you x

I smiled when I dialed Toms number and waited till he answered, which he finally did.

"Hey beautiful." Toms voice said, he sounded like he just woke up a while ago too.

"Hey, Tom." I said as I shut my door and laid on the bed. "How's life without me?" I asked and Tom laughed.

"Very upsetting." He said, fake crying at the end. "I do miss you a lot though." He said and I smiled at nothing in particular.

"I miss you, too." I said and the door flew opened and there stood Noah with his arms crossed.

"Come downstairs my moms making breakfast." His voice was deep and demanding and I just glared at him.

"I'm on the phone." I said pointing to my ear and phone.

"And I'm breathing, now come on." Noah said as he came over to me and tried to take the phone.

"Who's that?" Tom asked and I was too busy smacking Noah's hands to answer him.

"Stop..." I said as Noah took the phone and hung up. "What the hell?" I almost screamed and I tried to take my phone back but he held it up high.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you'll get your phone back after you're all fed." Noah said as he walked out the room dragging me with him.

Not cool, Noah. Not cool at all.
