Running Into Noah

RIN/Chapter 23

Dani gave me a short hug before she left and our moms looked at us with smiles thinking we talked it out when really we did nothing close. I didn't feel any guilt in having sex with Dani again, knowing that her boyfriend was just a couple blocks away and in some way I felt like she didn't feel guilty at all.

I don't understand what it's is about that girl but she's had had me hooked since the day I could remember and maybe that's why we always have this... force bring us together again.

"I'm glad you and Dani are clearing things up again, but you guys are like a soap opera to me! Always having something go on." My mom said as I put on my jacket and forced a smile to her.

"Yeah, it's strange..." I admitted as I quickly put my shoes on and kissed her cheek. "I'll be back." I said as I left out and drove down to the apartment I wasn't at since two years ago.

"Noah, you made it." Daisy said and I nodded my head and took a step into her apartment.

"Nice place, I see you changed it." I said and I looked around and the new dark furniture.

"I change it once a month, I have a problem." She said as she set the two cups of coffee down. "Who knew I would of actually had you come by for coffee like we're some old people." She said and I smiled.

"We are pretty old." I said and she laughed.

"Lord, I hope not." She said as she smiled at me. "So, how's it going now since Dani is back?" She asks, getting right to the chase.

"Complicated." I admitted and she nodded her head.

"Well, obviously. You guys always had some complications going on, I'm not surprised." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Ha, ha." I said even though she was being completely true and honest. "But it's getting...weirder." I added and she put her elbow on top of the couch and faced me.

"It just started getting weirder?" She asked and I looked down knowing she was making a face.

"We... I was arguing with her and then out of no where she was on my bed and one thing lead to another..."

"Oh." Daisy said with wide eyes and I nodded my head.

"Yeah,"

"Isn't she with Tom?" Daisy asked and I nodded my head again and buried my face into my hands.

"Whenever we get into that moment I don't think anything of him- and I doubt she does either. I mean, when we kiss its like were more then what we are and we belong to that." I explained and she nodded her head.

"I remember You were able to win any girls heart but always when it came to Dani you became some...idiot." She said in complete honesty and I nodded my head in agreement.

"Yeah, I'm stupid around her..."

"And thats how you know you're in love." She said and my head snapped up to look at her as she gave me the, yeah I said it, look.

"But how do I know she loves me like I love her?" I ask Daisy and she rolls her eyes.

"Dammit Noah, she's fucking you and trying to fight for your love. She's as crazy about you as you are of her!" Daisy says and I just try to think this all through.

"But she's with Tom."

"I still don't understand that but I feel like it's because she's holding onto him incase you end up letting her go. She's obviously scared of being alone."

I nodded my head and agreed. "Anyway, no more talk about Dani. Hows your life?"

"Dude," I heard Mike say as I was finishing off my sandwich.

"Whats up?" I ask as he grabs a knife and cuts my sandwich in half, taking the bigger peice. "Dude!" I complain but he just takes a big bite.

"Tom's mad." He said with a mouthful.

"So?"

"At you, he feels like something happened and you're making-" Mike took a sip of my soda and I glared at him, snatching it out his hand but he just went on. "-his and Danis relationship crumble."

"Wow, he has a brain for once?" I ask and Mike smirks at me.

"He said he's going to confront you soon." He added and I laughed.

"This should be funny." I said and Mike nodded.

"I asked him what he would say because there is nothing going on between you two-" I looked at Mike like he was an idiot but he quickly explained, "I lied for you guys so shut up. But anyways, he had no idea of what to come at you with so when he does call me I want to see this."

I nodded my head and laughed. "Alright, I'll let you know." I said as I took a bite of my half sandwich. "How's the sandwich?" I ask Mike and he nods his head.

"Delicious."

I walked to the living room with Mike right behind, probably waiting to take my drink again, and right when I get to the couch the door opens and in comes my dad with snow all over his black trench coat. "Snows suppposed to stop by 4 o'clock the news man says but he also said it was supposed to reach 80 degrees on Monday- fucking dumbass." He said mostly to himself but Mike and I smiled as he cursed life away.

"It better stop at 4, we have a dinner date later on tonight." My mom said walking into the living room with her hair all over the place.

My dad laughed lightly, "You should go like this- never seen you look sexier.."

"Please take your sexy talk in the kicthen." I begged and they just laughed as they made their ways into the kitchen.

"Your parents are cute." Mike said and I nodded my head.

"Yeah."
