Running Into Noah

RIN/Chapter 12

Daniela's P.O.V
I packed up three long shirts with leggings and pjs and a couple big warm jackets for the cottage. I wanted to be warm because its usually really cold up at the cottage when we used to go before.
"So?" I heard Mikes voice and I wanted to roll my eyes, "You are going to the cottage?"
I turn around to see Mike smirking at me and I blush like a fool. "What?" I ask, "You said I should relax a little and I could do that at the cottage." I said and Mike nodded his head.
"Yeah, you could." He said as he gave me a pointed look. "And you better have fun." And then he walked out the room.
I stood there in confusing and I was trying to think of what he was saying, and you better have fun... What do you mean by that, Mike?
My phone went off and at first I didn't want to answer it until I saw mom flash on the screen.
"Mom," I said as I answered the phone right away. "Where the hell are you?" I ask her.
"I'm sorry, Daniela." My mom apologized, it was good hearing her voice. "Bills mother passed away two weeks ago and we had to go, we will be home before Christmas- I promise."
I frowned. "Is Bill alright?" I asked her and she took a deep breath.
"He's taking it pretty bad." I can tell she was frowning by the way she said that.
"Dani?" I heard Noah's voice say from behind me. I turned around to see him with an old bag and with a comfy outfit on, I smiled at him.
"Mom, I'll call you back?" I said and she said a quick goodbye.
"Ready to go?" Noah asked and I nodded my head.
Even though it was only going to be a two days I was still excited to go out and have fun. I don't even know what else we had to get? I mean, Tori had the whole living room completely decorated- even the bathroom had some Christmas decor. The Santa head in the shower was pretty creepy if I say so myself.
"You think it's going to be cold down there?" I asked Noah but before he could answer me Tori called us downstairs as soon.
"Here." She said giving us food that looked like it was going to last a whole week. "Just in case you guys get hungry or a huge storm keeps you in." She said with a small smile.
Lets hope not.
We took the food and said goodbye to everyone. Mike was making kissy faces at me and I glared at him until we backed out the driveway.
Doesn't he understand?
I have a boyfriend, Mike!

The cottage was very close so I wasn't surprised when we were just thirty minutes away.
"I'm going to get some gas, you want anything?" Noah asks me and he opens his car door, I nod my head and follow him inside.
When we walked in the cold went away and the smell of powdered doughnuts filled my nose and I instantly smiled. I love powdered doughnuts.
I quickly make my way over to the doughnuts then I look around to find Noah's favorite gas station snack, beef jerky.
I got up to the counter and see Noah waiting there and when I put the things down Noah smiled at me, "You remembered the beef jerky." He said and I smiled at him.
"Obviously." I said as I rolled my eyes and nudged his stomach.
The old man behind the counter smiled at us. "That will be $7.89." Noah paid for that and the gas and we walked out the store as the guy behind the register said, "Merry Christmas."
" Woah, I forgot it was almost Christmas." I said as Noah started to pump in the gas.
Noah gave me a weird look and laughed, "Seriously?" He asks, "You never forget Christmas, its the only holiday you actually like." He says and I frown.
"Well, life has been busy lately so..." I said as I tried to smile but it came out forced and sad looking.
Noah looked at me and just frowned.

Noah's P.O.V
"Well, life has been busy lately so..." Dani said as she tried to smile but it looked forced and it looked like a sad smile.
I frowned at her, has she not been happy with Tom? Dani loves Christmas and would never forget it just like that- it was something that reminded her of her happiness, something that made her feel young again. So how is she going to forget all of that? Is Tom such a Grinch that he makes Dani suffer his boring life too?
The gas was filled and I put it back and smiled at Dani. "Let's get going."
Since Dani didn't seem to have any real fun while with Tom I'm going to try to make this the best two days she had.

Once we were 5 miles away from the cottage that's when the snow was getting us. This area was closer to the mountains so it had more snow up here.
"Wow..." Dani said as she looked at the white flakes falling from the sky. "This snow looks better her than in the city."
I smiled over to her but looked back to the road before she could see, "I bet." I said as I turned to the exit. "Couple minutes and we'll be at the cottage." I said and Dani smiled eagerly.
The snow was getting thicker on the road so it took longer to actually get to the cottage but when we did I couldn't be happier.
I love this cottage. Lost my virginity here to a girl names Heather. She was weird.
"You okay?" Dani asked as she gave me an amused look.
"Yeah." I said as I cleared my throat and got out the car.
When we got out we watched the snow fall over the small pond that was next to the cottage sometimes Dani would skate on the ice but after one year when the ice started breaking he didn't go on it anymore.
"I hope this snow stops soon, I can't wait to be able to walk around a little." Dani said as she took big steps in the snow and got closer to the pond. "Cool, no ice broke yet." She said as she picked up a big rock from under the snow and threw it across the pond to see if it will crack the ice at all but it didn't.
"You want to skate on it later?" I asked and she eagerly nodded her head with a big smile on her face.
"Just when it doesn't snow anymore, I hate when the snow gets in my eyes." She said as we headed back inside.
I looked up to see all the snow falling,
Lets hope it stops.
