*~Joker~*
I was sitting on the floor in Alex's bedroom, swaying back and forth as I held my gun in my hands. It had been months since I heard about Alex being involved in a crash and I still didn't know whether my Queen was alive or dead. Frost couldn't hack into the hospital's database and when we went to the hospital to see her, there were police officers and security detail which made it almost impossible to get in or out of that place.
She's gone. You've killed her!
I shook my head, refusing to believe that she was dead. She couldn't be dead. She wouldn't do that to me.
Standing up from the floor, I wandered over towards her bed...grabbing her pillow and pressing it up to my face; inhaling deeply as I closed my eyes. Everything in this room smelled like her, as if she had been here recently, but I knew she hasn't.
Hearing the sounds of a sudden SWOOSH, I didn't even bother turning around because I already knew who was standing behind me.
"Joker...what are you doing here?" Batman's deep voice filled my ears, making me roll my eyes as I let out a loud, irritable groan.
"Go...Away." I growled.
"She's not here."
"I can see that." I turned to face him, still holding her pillow in my arms, as I glared at him. "Where is she?"
"That's none of your concern, Joker." He spoke calmly. "If I'm being honest...I blame YOU for why she's not here! You took an innocent girl and turned her into a psycho person, like yourself!" For the first time in months, a smile slowly crept up on my face as I let out a chuckle.
"Innocent? Oh Batsy, Batsy, Batsy...my kitten is far from innocent." I began, slowly walking over towards the bathroom. "You see...while you were standing in this very spot, I was in there...giving her every single inch of me while we took a shower together."
"You shut your mouth!" He snapped.
"Her moans are deliciously exquisite and I can still feel her soft skin against mine." I grinned, reminiscing on the amazing sex sessions between me and my kitten.
"I'm warning you, clown! You stop talking about my dau-" He stopped talking mid sentence as I turned and glared at him.
"Your what? Your daughter?" He blinked at me, giving me a blank expression, but I knew more than he thought I did. "What's wrong, Batsy? Bat got your tongue?"
"It's time you leave." He grumbled.
"Oh come on now, Bruce. You honestly think I didn't know she was your daughter? Of course I knew! It wasn't hard to put two and two together, especially when trying to pinpoint a location." The look on his face made me laugh loudly, as I walked up to him and grabbed his face. "I could've killed her, you know? Hit her with my car, put a bullet in her head, made her jump in a hot boiling vat of acid like Harley did. Well actually...she wasn't going for the whole acid thing, but I'm sure you get my point. I could have killed your precious daughter, but I didn't! You wanna know why I didn't do it?" I stared him in his eyes, patting his cheek as I turned away from him. I'm almost certain that he saw the truth in my eyes. A truth that I haven't fully came to grips with, but I also couldn't deny it.
"Because you fell in love with her." He stated, his voice leaking with shock and disbelief.
"Bingoooo!" I laughed, pointing at him.
"Why? Why her?"
"Why her? WHY HER? Why not her? I can't believe I'm actually about to say this, and to you nonetheless, but she makes me want to be a...a better person. Sure, I'm a little rough around the edges, but so is she and we balance each other out." I walked up to her nightstand table, picking up a picture of Alex, Bruce, and some other man, staring at her gorgeous smile as she sat up on her motorcycle. "She's going to be my end. And I've learned to accept that."
"Joker..."
"I thought Harley would be my end, but once I met Alexandria..."
"JOKER STOP!" He shouted. I turned around and glared at him, watching his chest move up and down. "I understand that you are vulnerable right now, which explains why I haven't hauled your ass to Blackgate, but I'm telling you now...you and Alex will never happen."
"With all due respect, Batsy Bruce...that's not your decision to make. I love her and she loves me, which means...there's nothing you or anyone else can do to keep us away from each other!" I spat.
"I'm not the one you have to worry about."
"Tell me then...who do I need to worry about?"
"The Grim Reaper." He told me. My heart started pounding in my chest as I stared at him, not fully comprehending what he was telling me.
"What...what are you trying to tell me?" I asked, not taking my eyes off of his.
"Alex is dead. She died a few days after the crash." At that moment, it felt as if someone plunged their hands into my chest and ripped my heart out completely; stomping on it until there was nothing left.
"You're lying." I whispered.
"Come on, J. Why would I lie about something like that? She was my damn daughter and because of you...she's gone!" I grabbed my head, hearing the voices laugh at me and utter the same line over and over...I TOLD YOU SO!
"I-I didn't mean...I didn't...it was Harley!" Anger spread through my body like wildfire as I brushed passed the Bat and stepped out onto the balcony, jumping off the ledge and landing directly on my feet. Knowing that Alex was gone was like a huge slap to the face, but I refused to let her death go unpunished. A punishment is due and I wasn't going to rest until I got justice for my Queen.
