After mending things between my family, Blue and I headed back over to Joker's house so we could be with our men and enjoy the rest of our night. I hated that Blue and Frost's date got put on hold, due to everything that happened, but thankfully they made plans to go out tomorrow night and I was here for it.
Walking into the dark house, I immediately got an eerie feeling, as if something wasn't right. Joker's henchmen weren't outside, or even inside for that matter, which was highly suspicious because they never strayed from their usual spots.
"Is it just me, or...is something not right here?" Blue voiced.
"Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks that. There's definitely something wrong." I said. Slowly walking through the house, I looked for any and everything that may seemed out of the ordinary; before making my way up the stairs. Where the hell was everybody?
"Alex I'm scared. Let's just go back to your dad's house." I ignored her begging pleas, reaching down into my boot and pulling out my trusty pocket knife.
"You still got your weapons from the Bat Cave don't you?" I asked her.
"Of course." She pulled out her taser, starting it up, as we both slowly crept up the stairs. I wanted to call out to Joker or Frost, just to see if either of them would respond, but I decided against it. Scary movie 101: Do NOT draw attention to yourself and if you see or hear something that you know can be dangerous...RUN THE OTHER WAY AND DON'T LOOK BACK!
We stopped at Frost's room first, pushing the door open, and noticing that there was nobody inside. So if Frost isn't here, neither is Joker. I then headed towards Joker's bedroom, noticing that the door was wide open which was weird because he never left the door open. Maybe I left it open after Blue and Frost left for their date, forgetting that I had did so? I thought to myself. I knew better. Joker has gotten on to me too many times for that, so I knew the rules when it came do his bedroom. Pushing the door open, I flicked on the light, and my heart started to pound hard in my chest. Everything that he loved...everything in this room that he cherished was...gone.
"Joker?" My voice was barely audible as I stepped into the room, inhaling the scent of his Giorgio Armani cologne, with a hint of whisky, and gun powder. Though is cologne always tend to linger whenever he came in or left out of a room...something told me that he was literally just here. "Joker!" I walked over towards his closet and opened it, noticing that his favorite purple alligator skinned jacket was gone.
"Alex?" Blue voiced, but I ignored her and walked into the closet, seeing his safe was wide open and all of his money was gone.
"No...no, no, no!" I felt the tears swell up in my eyes as I backed out of the closet, turning towards Blue, as she stared down at the bed. "What is it?" She picked up a piece of paper, squinting her eyes, as she stared at it.
"I think it's from Joker, but I can't read his handwriting." I grabbed the letter from her, but before I could read it, I felt another presence enter the room with us. I quickly turned around, flinging my knife towards the person, missing them by a few inches as my knife went into the wall.
"What the fuck, Alex!" Frost spat.
"Sorry...I didn't know if you were an intruder or what." I murmured. "Is Joker with you?"
"No...we were at the club and he just disappeared out of nowhere, so I'd figure that he'd be here waiting on you."
"He's not here either. We just got here and noticed that something was unusual." Blue said.
"All his stuff is gone and his safe is completely empty."
"That can't be right." Frost said, quickly rushing into the closet. I sat down on the edge of the bed, reading what the letter said out loud.
My Doll,
Our time has officially ran out and I no longer need you in my life. It is clear that you are nothing more than a distraction and I would be better off by myself. If you value your life or the life of that thing growing inside of you, you won't come looking for me and leave well enough alone. It was fun while it lasted, kitten, but it's time for us to move on from each other.
Mr. J
I started to cry hysterically, dropped the letter onto the floor, and falling to my knees. How could he possibly say these mean and hurtful things to me, when just earlier in the day he was begging me not leave him again. Now he's left me all alone and to make matters worse...he's left me alone with a baby that he called a thing. What kind of person calls their own kid a thing?
"I am so sorry, Alex." Blue said, dropping down next to me and pulling me into her arms. Frost picked up the letter and glanced at it, looking both confused and enraged.
"This is definitely J's handwriting, but this just doesn't make any sense. Where the hell did he go and why didn't he tell me he was just going to up and leave?" He voiced, clearly talking to himself, but Blue and I were literally right in front of him. I couldn't even respond because I was crying so hard, while Blue consoled me. After everything we've been through, I can't believe he just up and left me. I can't believe he was...gone.
