My flight to the US was very tiring, full of turbulence, and many hours delayed due to bad weather. But I'm glad I've arrived on time to catch up the bus to Mystery Spell. Indeed, I have even a little time to go through the stores at the bus station, and I fall in love with a Goldfish at a Pet Store. I just had to buy it! It'll be a friendly company on my desk while I study to the subjects I have to catch up at the University and to my Master. A pet always warms your heart, even if it's inside an aquarium...

The trip between the city with the closest airport to Mystery Spell is two hours... Endless two hours after my many hours in the airport and inside an airplane... My legs, back, and shoulders are so sore! For sure, I need a warming bath and a relaxing massage to be myself again. I'm terribly exhausted and drained after the hectic two last weeks and this long journey.

Now, a little trip by taxi and I'll be at my new home finally! I can't wait more! I need a bed to rest and to restore my energies! After the taxi driver sets my luggage in the trunk, I enter into the cab, and I give him the address I want to reach. He seems a little bit surprised... maybe scared would define him better...

Taxi Driver: Are you sure Bartholy's mansion is your destination?

Khawla: Yes. Why? Any problem?

Taxi Driver: No. No.

He turns to the front and starts driving without any more word the entire way. I'm observing his facial expressions through the rearview mirror, and he's frowning worried.

"Very weird."

As I'm exhausted, I'm glad he doesn't say anything more.

I lean my head against the glass window, and I observe the city's buildings passing by. The town seems so sad, gloomy, and dark at night... Or is this the reflex of my own mood? The city has some phantasmagoric aura, something like coming from a dream... or from a nightmare.

We stop in front of a big and majestic mansion. It has a huge yard with a fountain and long stairs until the big main door with gargoyles. I would say it's an ideal set for a horror movie... Now I'm able to understand what worried the driver that much and I think I'm starting to sympathize with him...

Taxi Driver: Here you are.

I leave the taxi while he gets my luggage from the trunk. Indeed, the manor is intimidating in its size and has a threatening somber dark aura.

Khawla: Thank you.

I pay for the ride, and the taxi driver disappears as fast as he can. Something like he was running for his life!

"Great! It's so reassuring!"

I manage with great difficulty to carry my two big and heavy suitcases, my backpack and my electric guitar case through all the front yard till the foot of the stairs that will lead me to the front door. I keep looking to my suitcases and the up of the stairs...

"How will I manage to carry them up? Fuck! I shouldn't have brought my entire house with me!"

Someone comes from inside the manor, interrupting my cursing, and puts himself beside me: tall, gorgeous, sexy, large shoulders, long brown hair, blue eyes, with a sweet and friendly smile, and a dangerous magnetic aura that I can identify anywhere...

"Vampire!"

Nicolae: I believe you're Khawla Jones.

I nod, thinking in the implications of living with vampires...

Nicolae: Welcome. I was waiting for you. I'm Nicolae Bartholy. Let me help you with your suitcases.

I become as pale as death has touched me. I pass a hand through my hair. My eyes are wide open.
