Sebastian and I are walking side by side till the parking lot as he has insisted to give me a ride back to the manor. I've tried to drop off his offer, but if I keep trying to slip from him, he'll get that something is really, but really wrong. He already has his suspicions... and I have to find ways to disguise him.
Sebastian: I get surprised in knowing that you've accepted Jonathan's invitation, little fairy. You and sports?
Sebastian lets out mockery laughter. He's trying to tease me to me spill the beans, as he knows I have a wicked temper just like fairies do, but he won't be well succeeded in his intentions. If only he knows the reasons behind... I don't want to have a glimpse of what a disaster it would be. I shrug my shoulders and answer in a casual tone of voice.
Khawla: Yes. It'll make me good. It'll keep me busy and my mind out of these things that are making me sick.
Well, these aren't the real reasons why I've accepted to be part of the Figure Skating team, but they sound plausible and close to reality somehow. Sebastian repeats my very words to himself, to memorize them, but his fierce amber eyes of big bad wolf show that I'm not worthy of trust, he doesn't believe in me.
Sebastian: So, why of this dark cloud over your head, little fairy?
I raise an enquiring eyebrow, and I can visualize the scene, just as it is in a cartoon: a dark cloud, thundery, maybe raining as well, above my head, following me everywhere. I look up, as I imagine the scenario, and Sebastian burst into laughter. I shake my head from one side to another in reproval of his childish behavior.
Khawla: There is no dark cloud above my head, Seb.
Sebastian looks at me with mockery eyes. His eyebrow is up, he has a smirk on his lips, and he crosses his muscular arms on his well-sculptured chest. He's pure irony towards me.
Sebastian: No?! So, tell me, why are you grumpy if this is the solution to your problems, little fairy?
"Touché!"
I have to think fast. I have to give him a witty answer to shut him up. I'm getting uncomfortable with his questions. I know he has his suspicions and that he's trying to catch me in web, although he's very far of being a spider...
Khawla: I'm thinking about time management.
Sebastian raises an eyebrow surprised by my answer. I'm sure he would never wait for this. My time to touché!
Khawla: Yes. How I'm going to manage Lorie, College, office, studies, and training...
I hide from him that the Principal has offered me an athlete scholarship, as I know Sebastian is eager to get me from the manor. And, especially, from Nicolae. He nods in understanding while repeating my very words mentally. I think he's starting to believe in me this time.
Or maybe not...
Sebastian is scrutinizing me with his fierce amber eyes of a big bad wolf, that see everything. He isn't fooled easily like that. I'm pretty sure he knows that the pieces aren't matching in this puzzle set and nothing that I would say he would believe right now. And I'm pretty sure he has accepted to be my coach to dig it in depth to get the truth whatever it is.
"How am I going to turn down Seb's suspicious?"
I let out a defeated sigh. It'll be hard work to change Sebastian's attention to something else, very far from Professor Nielson and this odd acceptance to be a member of the Mystery Spell University's Figure Skating team.
