Chapter 5: Holy Shhh
Ashton’s POV
I woke up a while later and the first thing I noticed was somebody curled up against me. I looked down only to see Luke, curled against me, in my bed, with my shirt off. “Holy sh-” I started to say but I cut myself off. I shouldn’t wake him up. But what time is it? Why am I in my room? And where in the hell is my shirt? So many questions ricocheted through my mind. My gaze wandered my room aimlessly, until I saw the time on my alarm clock. 6:13. My mom should be home. My dad will be out gambling, but what if he saw me and Luke asleep?
“Mrfmlebm.” I heard from Luke. He slowly raised his head up to look at me. His blue eyes were clouded by sleep, but still had a beautiful shine to them. His hair was mussed, but was perfect as always. “Oh God, Ash, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep!” he said panicked. Oh garsh, he’s like a small child saying sorry to his mum.
“It’s fine, I fell asleep too.” I mumbled. “Question, do you know where my shirt is?” Luke’s eyes widened, and he glanced down to my bare chest.
“I swear, I didn’t strip you!” he whispered, his eyes glued to my body. I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. I cleared my throat, making Luke tear away his gaze. “I d-didn’t mean to stare.” Luke stammered turning as red as a beet.
“Is it possible I got it off myself?” I asked him. He shrugged, and not so subtly kept looking down. “I’m not that impressive, Luke.” It whipped out of me before I could stop the words. Luke’s blue gaze became filled disbelief and sadness.
“Are you joking?” he asked. Luke sat up and swung his legs over the side of my bed. “You, are a beautiful liar.” He spoke making me scoff. Luke rolled his eyes before grabbing a black shirt from the top of my bed. “Is this yours?” he smiled. I blushed, and snatched it from his hands. I slipped it on, luckily, right before my mum walked into the room. She was stumbling and swaying, with a wine bottle in her hand.
“You havve a boyfriends!” she slurred out. She’s drunk, again. “He’sss sssooooo cute!” mum tried walking forward towards us, but she fell instead.
“Mum, you need to go lay down.” I crawled out of my bed and walked over to my mother.
“No I don’t! Why won’t you let me have any fun?” she whined and jerked away from me. “Introduce me to this boy!” Wow, from toddler to schoolgirl in 2 seconds flat.
“Okay, I will, just go lay down, please.” I begged. Luke came over to me, and we both grabbed an arm of my mother. We lifted her up and dragged her into her bedroom. It was a pretty normal bedroom; a television sat on the dresser, and a large king-size bed was in the middle of the far wall. The bed was hardly used at all due to the runaway adult children.
