The Hunger Games - Second Quarter

I was a bird again, flying above the same crumbled buildings. I saw myself again in a beautiful feild of green grass and dandelions. I was spinning, with Gale. Suddenly he grabbed me and threw me to the ground, telling me to be quiet. I saw others run by. I saw the green eyed girl again, Phoebe she crept close to me and Gale holding her knife close to her body, once she reached us she watched as the others left.

Phoebe started to speak but I could quite catch anything anyone was saying butwe all stood up a walked slowly out of the feild.

But I stopped. I watched myself start to step backwards. I started talking and looked a little freaked out. Phoebe and Gale tried to make me walk with them but I wouldn't. I watched as I started to run, I ran fast. Away from Phoebe and Gale, they looked at eachother before running after me. I knew they were yelling my name even though I couldn't hear them but I didnt stop. I watched as horror struck and I was thrown to the ground by a strong force, he held a sword above me and lifted it high into the air. I saw my eyes close tightly and flinch as he started bringing the sword down. I quickly brought up my leg to kick the man but his sword hit my leg. The only thing I heard throughout this dream was my screaming, my horrible pained screaming. The man brought up the sword again, I heard my screams again as he brought it down and my vision went black.

I was woken up from my dreams with sweat dripping down my face. I clutched the bed sheets tightly in hope it would relax me, I let them loose once I calmed down a bit but I still drew in deep breaths.

"I heard you screaming throughout the whole cart are you okay?" I hear Katniss say.

"J-Ju- Just a dream." I stutter to reply.

Katniss sits at the end of my bed and looks me in the eye.

"About?" She asks.

I took a breath before replying, "I was in a feild, with Gale," I say, "We.. We were spinning, then people came by and we hid in the grass as they passed. Phoebe came along shortly before they left and waited with us," I explain, "We started walking after that but I stopped and wouldn't go any further. Then I started running and I was thrown to the ground by a man, I couldn't quite see what he looked like because my dream was in a birds point of view. He had a sword and he attempted to stab me with it but I kicked my leg up and he stabbed my leg. I could only hear my screams throughout the whole dream, just my screams, nothing else. He started to try and stab me again and when he brought the sword down everything went black and I woke up." I finish.

"Wow." She says.

"I'm worried that I died," I say, "I mean Phoebe being in my dream was true and what if this one is?"

"Its just a coincidence," Katniss says, "Now go back to bed."

"Will you sleep with me?" I ask choking on my words a bit.

She nodded and lied next to me and held my hand interlocking our fingers.

"I wish these games would stop." She says.

"So do I." I say.

"Only one comes out." She says.

I let silence linger for a while before I spoke.

"It's going to be you." I drew in a deep breath.

She said nothing, I thought for a second she had fallen asleep. But when I looked over her eyes were wide open and staring at the ceiling.

"It won't be, my games were based on luck." I say

"You keep saying that but did you ever think that you were meant to win?" Katniss asks.

"No." I say.

"Everything happens for a reason." She speaks.

"Dad told us that." I smile remembering the memory.

"He was wise." Katniss says.

"He really was," I reply, "I wish he was here."

That was the last thing we said to eachother before we both drifted to sleep.
