I didn't eat dinner that night. I just sat on the floor in my room, thinking. One.memorable moment came to mind, the day I met Gale.
Our families were both invited to a party at the square which was unusual because we lived in the poorer part of the district, however everyone was invited to this party. It was the mayor's birthday and he wanted to invite everyone, no gifts were needed but my parents got him an expensive pen. I found the party boring and sat on the sidelines playing with my dress, trying to find a way out of my boredom. My mother made me wear a dress; when I was a kid I hated wearing dresses and being fancy, that had since changed. A boy around the age of 13 walked up to me.
"You're Elsa Everdeen right?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yeah."
He sat next to me and pointed to Katniss who was dancing with our mom. This was the happiest I've seen my mom since my dad died.
"I'm going to marry that girl." He said.
"My sister, Katniss?" I ask.
"I thought her name was Katnip," He smiled, "Whoops."
"She's shy." I say.
"You don't seem to be very shy." He says.
"Thats because i'm not." I reply.
"My names Gale," He says, "Gale Hawthorne."
"Elsa," I reply, "Elsa Everdeen. "
"I must say you look dashing today." Gale smiles mocking Effie's accent.
"Why thank you darling." I reply also copying her accent.
Gale and I both laughed.
"I should go now, but we should hang out sometime." He smiled.
"Sure." I replied.
"See ya Elsa."
"See ya."
And that was the last thing we said to eachother, me and him hung out the next day and became instant friends have been ever since.I fell asleep on the floor that night, I dreamed that I was a bird, soaring above an old city with crumpled buildings, then I recognized something, the cornucopia, surrounding it 48 tributes. I recognized one to be me, a gong sounded and I ran as fast as I could towards the mouth of the cornucopia. I was the first one there and grabbed some throwing knives and a sword. I was tackled down by a girl with an axe, i thrashed around like a fish out of water but I failed to get out of her grip, she threw her axe up in the air and laughed a creepy laugh. I could see others scrambling trying to find weapons, dying. Just as she started to bring the axe down a knife struck her in the face and she fell to the ground, limp. I saw me scramble up and look at where the knife came from. A girl with dark hair and piercing beautiful green eyes stood there, fear struck my body. But she smiled, a real smile. Maybe she was an ally?
