Chapter 20

It's only been a week, but Eric and I have been getting closer and closer. He asked me to be his girlfriend on our last date. I said yes, of course. I decided that I would see the gang today. I missed them. I really missed Darry and Steve. Now that I have a boyfriend, I just want to be best friends with Soda again. I miss being just friends with him. I was wearing jean shorts, heels, a white tank top, and Eric's jacket. I had my hair in a high ponytail. I walked over to the Curtis's house and I knocked on the door. The door opened. Two Bit opened it. "CORAL!" He yelled. I heard running. Everyone was now standing by the doorway. I hugged everyone that was in the living room. "Hey kid where've you been?" Darry asked. I shrugged. "Out and about. Need help with anything?" I asked. Darry laughed. "You're too good of a kid, you know that?" Darry asked. I nodded. "Can't help it. Had to do so something since I Was living with Dally." I said pointing to Dally who was sitting on the couch. Dally rolled his eyes and playfully hit me. I smirked. Soda walked into the living room. As soon as he saw me his eyes got wide. "C-Coral!" He spit out. "S-Soda!" I mocked back. He smirked. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "So...How've you been?" Soda asked. I shrugged. "pretty good. What about you?" I asked.. Soda shrugged his shoulder and walked into the kitchen. I sighed and sat down next to Steve. "So I get no hug" He asked. I laughed. "I am sorry Steve." I said and hugged him. Soda walked back into the room. "Coral why do you smell like a guy?" Steve asked with a smirk. "Do you mean that in a good way, or bad way?" I asked. "Well, good. You smell like cologne." Steve said. Everyone turned to me. Darry poked his head out of the kitchen. HE looked at me up and down. "what kinda jacket is that?" Darry asked with a small smile creeping up his lips. "It's just a jacket guys!" I said throwing my hands up in frustration. All of the sudden Ponyboy and Johnny couldn't hold it in anymore. "IT'S ERIC'S!!" Johnny yelled. "Who's Eric?" Soda sorta whispered to me. "HER BOYFRIEND!" Pony yelled. I rolled my eyes. "I ain't telling you guy nothin no more!" I said. Dally laughed. "Is he nice?" Darry asked walking over to me. I nodded. "Very." I said. "Well if he hurts you, let me know. Is he a Soc or greaser?" Darry asked. "A Soc. But he doesn't believe in the whole greaser vs Soc thing. I really like him." I said. He nodded. Soda looked down and didn't say anything.

All of the sudden the door burst open causing Two Bit to roll his eyes, and Steve to scoff. "HEY GUYS!" Sandy yelled. I turned around, and turned back to Dally giving him a, WHAT THE HELL IS HE STILL DOING WITH HER, Kinda look. He shrugged his shoulders. I smiled, and Dally smiled back. I honestly didn't care anymore. I turned back around at Sandy and I couldn't hold in my laughter. She was wearing her makeup cake don, and wearing the smallest clothing I have ever seen. 

"Damn she didn't kill herself yet Soda?" She asked him out loud. Everyone's laughing got silent. Darry, Dally, Two Bit, and Steve jumped up in rage. I put my hand up to make them be quiet. Sandy continued..."It must be ard putting makeup on such an ugly face." she said. Dally's face was red with rage. I smirked and everyone looked confused, even Sandy. "Sandy I think you sould le..." Soda started, but I started to talk. "It must be hard putting makeup on such an ugly face? Really? I thought it would be even harder putting makeup on your two faces, and if I wanted to hit you, I wouldn't know which face I would slap." I said. All the boys jumped up screaming and laughing. IT got more quiet. Sandy started to say something but I got close to her face and put my hand on her mouth. "The trash gets picked up tomorrow. Be ready bitch." I said, and I pushed her out of the door, and closed it. It was quiet for 2 seconds, then everyone started laughing and screaming. Even Soda. I laughed. I missed the gang.
