Grocery Shopping

Millie's POV.

I woke to someone shaking me. I open my eyes and see my mom, smiling down at me. I sit up and she holds out my phone, with no crack on the screen. I look at mom and jump out of bed. I run to dads room and gave him a big hug.

"Thank you Dad! I love it!" I say whilst hugging him.

"Your welcome pudding. Besides your due for a new upgrade." Dad told me.

"I know! I've been trying to save money for one." I told him looking at my perfectly good phone.

"Well, no need to now." Dad spoke. I look at him suspiciously.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"It's your birthday soon?" He questions. "So maybe you'll get one then." She smiled. I was so happy I hugged my dad and held tight. He's the best dad ever. What would I do without him.

"Millie? Do you want to go grocery shopping with me and Ava?" Mom asked. I nod and jump off the bed and go get dressed. From now till my birthday I'm gonna watch my phone all time now. I can't afford to break it again.

Whilst grocery shopping, Ava had been quiet towards me. I don't know why though. She sits in the trolley and ignores me. Mom wasn't pleased by her behaviour. But she knew why Ava was acting like this. Getting stuck with your older sister can make you angry and stop being good, if you get what I mean.

"What do want to eat tomorrow for lunch?" Mom asks as we pile down the fruit and veg isle.

"Salad?" I ask.

"Yeah. We need to be heathy." Mom commented.

"I am healthy mom." I say back.

"You sure?" I heard someone say behind. I turn and see Sadie. She smiles and has a basket with snacks in. Probably not for me but for her new best friend.

"Hey Sadie!" My mom greets.

"Hey Mrs Brown. How are you?"

"Working! But I'm staying home now. Can't handle the stress." My mom lied. It's because Ava is trouble causing and mom can't work knowing Ava is messing the house up.

"Hey Mills. Wanna have movie night at mine. Since that time before, we haven't really seen out from each other." I look to my mom and she nods. I nod and she smiles and leans in to hug me. "I'm just gonna get some snacks and I'll see you later at 7." She smiles and runs off.

"Why you stopped hanging out with her?" Mom asked.

"Because you made me look after Ava and she met someone to replace me." My mom looked to me.

"That thing yesterday. Trust me, she's not replacing you. Your not replaceable."

"You tell her and the guys." I tell. Suddenly we bump into Finn and his mom. I smile and then take back the smile.

"Hey Karen!" My mom greets.

"Hey Kelly. How's everything going?" Karen asks my mom.

"Good. I'm doing great with my publishing but I've had to slack it off for this little one here." Ava turned to Karen and Karen came over and said hi.

"She's gorgeous. A looker like Millie." She states. Ava looks to me and I look to Ava and back at Karen.

"Well we do try." My mom jokes. Finn comes up and taps me on the shoulder.

"How you feeling?" He asks.

"I'm fine." I say and get my phone out. "Got my phone repaired." I told him.

"That's great. Have you heard out from Sadie or anyone?" He asks me.

"I saw Sadie in here and she invited me over at hers." I told him.

"That's great." He smiles. I smile back and our moms say bye and we leave. I say bye to Finn and we finish our shopping and head home.

"So? Anything you wanna tell me about Finn?" Mom asked.

"What do you mean?" I ask turning to mom. We were driving home when she asked.

"You have any feelings towards him?" She asks. I look to my mom and shake my head.

"No! I'm just friends with him." I tell her.

"Look Millie... it's fine to have feelings for the people you care about. That's how I met your dad. We were friends for a long time and then we dated and now look where we are." My mom smiles.

"That's a nice story but it's not mine." I tell her.

"I see the way you look at him. I had the same thing with your dad." I nod and ignore my mom. I don't really wanna talk about it right now. I might like Finn but it's only friendship. Or is it more?
