Friendship

~Millie's POV~

I had Finn round so we could talk and get to know each other a little more. He came round and met my mom again.

"Hey finn! How is your mom and dad?" My mom asks.

"My moms good. My dad is still working." He answered my mom. Ava came running and smiled at Finn. She never met Finn before.

"Who's this little one?" Finn asks me.

"This is Ava, my little sister." I introduce him.

"I'm Millie's sister." She shakes his hand and grins. "He's a keeper." Ava ran off. Finn looked to me and I looked away awkward. Wow! That got awkward really quickly.

"Is it okay if we can go upstairs in my room?" I ask my mom. My mom smiles.

"Sure! But no funny business." My mom joked. Well I hope she was.

"Mom!" She shakes her head and walks off. I walk upstairs with Finn tagging along and we walk into my room.

"Wow!" He said out loud. "Your bedroom has changed from the last time I was here." Finn pointed out.

"I was 6 when you last was here. I'm 14 now." I tell him.

"Okay! Fine. I get your point. What do you wanna do?" He asks me. I sit on my bed and pat the spot next to me. He sits down and we sit in silence.

"So... How is life on the other side?" I asked. I already know everything as he's already told me before.

"My dad is finishing work before he comes back home. Nick is leaving home and getting a place here. My mom is alone and I feel bad." Finn tells me.

"She'll be with your dad soon." I tell him placing my hand on his lap. I hold it there for a few seconds and then swipe it away. "Sorry!" I apologise.

"Don't. I'm glad I still have you as my best friend. I lost all my friends when I left school." Finn tells me.

"You haven't lost me." We stay silence for a second and we both lean in slowly. Just before our heads could connect we heard a knock. I look and see my brother Charlie.

"Hey! Remember me!" Charlie asked Finn.

"Hey Charlie." Finn answers.

"How you been bud?" Charlie asks.

"Lonely. But I'm good now. I have Millie by my side." Finn looks and smiles before looking at Charlie again. Charlie left us alone. We both sat and chatted more and played some games that I had. We got bored and chilled downstairs. We had something to eat and Finn finally met my dad again. He was happy to see Finn again. I set Finn on his way home and asked my mom if one day he could sleep over. But it would have to be when his dad is home so his moms not alone. My mom agreed and I went to bed and text Finn.

Millie: hey! You can sleep at mine when you're dad comes home from work? When will that be exactly? x

Finn: that's great. My dad should be home in a couple of weeks. I got home and my mom was asleep. I set her off to bed and I'm the only one up. x

Millie: So when you wanna hang out next? x

Finn: soon I hope. I miss you already x

Millie: aw! You're sweet x

Finn: you're sweet x

Millie: I'm going to bed now. Need to be up for school. x

Finn: night princess. See you tomorrow x

I thought nothing of it and sent him one last text before going to bed.

Millie: night finnie boy. See you tomorrow x

I laughed at the text and smiled. He sent a smiley face emoji and I smiled back. I sent one and switched off my phone. That's a good night for Millie brown. If I say so myself.
