Free Verse "Secrets"
Secrets are like shadows, everyone has them;
Some people have bigger secrets then others,
From a little boy who stole a dollar from his mother's purse,
To a teenage girl who stole her mom's car.
Some secrets don't matter as much as others;
A small girl has a secret stash of money in her closet,
Her teenage brother has to many skeletons in his closet.
Some secrets are better kept then others;
The boy who stole his mothers money left behind no evidence,
The teenage girl left a huge gap in the garage,
The small girl with the stash hid it behind her toy box.
The teenage boy knew he had to clean the skeletons away,
So he took the skeletons and put them on display.
He showed the skeletons for what they really were.
They were shadows.
