"Come on girl, you know the answer to this one. Think," Alya encouraged while pointing a finger to her head.
Marinette groaned in annoyance while slamming her face into one of the library's tables, "But I can't math..." she whined.
Alya slowly raised a brow, "You seriously don't know the square root of 25?"
The bluebell casted her friend a frown, hands on her face. "My brain hasn't been functioning well. I've been under a lot of stress." And add kissing Adrien to the list of stressful things. Not to mention her duties as Ladybug, also their upcoming math test next week in Mr. Dobois's class.
"Aaaa~nd don't forget your unexpected date with Luka." Alya sighed with a frustrated look in her eyes.
Marinette cautiously looked at her, "We're going out as friends, not as a couple." She corrected.
"So going to André's doesn't sound like a date to you?" Alya crossed her arms on the table across from Marinette. "From the way he worded it, it seemed like he wanted it to be."
Marinette tried to argue, "But-"
Alya slammed a hand down on the table, "And if you hadn't forgotten my clumsy blue haired friend, you know what happens when you eat André's ice cream. When you share it together, you end up together."
She did have a point. Marinette let Alya's words hit her on top of the head like a brick. And yes, it would've probably hurt. The saying was true from what she heard.
She remembered her parents mentioning that they had André's magical ice cream before they officially got together. And look at them now. They were in love, married in their own way and had a child (which was her).
The only person she wanted to share André's ice cream with was... you guessed it... Adrien.
Speaking of the familiar blonde boy, Marinette still couldn't comprehend what happened the night before. Somehow she managed to have the confidence to kiss him!
But not as herself... as Ladybug... that was probably where all the confidence came from.
But that was the thing. It was Ladybug who kissed Adrien, not her. Yes, Ladybug was a part of her... and the kiss meant a lot to her...
But it would have felt more meaningful and heartwarming if it was her kissing him as Marinette. But, she couldn't complain. She was just glad she got to kiss him anyway.
Now out of her thoughts, Marinette decided to break the now formed silence. "It sounds like you aren't too happy about it." She shook her head. "I thought you liked Luka."
"I mean, I do." Alya sighed, "It's not like I have a problem with him personally. It's just... he's getting between things."
"Things? What things?"
Alya opened her mouth to speak, but hesitated. "I'll let you figure that one out. I'm not going to waste my breath." The look in her eyes told Marinette that she wanted to say more, but she didn't want to push.
"Now, for the time being.. why don't we go back to studying for our test?" Alya changed the subject, reaching for her math textbook.

The girls walked through the library doors and down the stairs leading to the main floor.Looking at the time on her phone, Marinette read that it was 4:00. It was the end of Adrien's fencing practice. A small blush crept onto her cheeks and hoped that-
She felt a nudge coming from beside her, "Look over there, blondie spotted at 2:00 sharp." Alya muttered with an obvious smirk in her voice.
Feeling the blood rushed to her cheeks increasing, Marinette turned in the direction and spotted Adrien walking from the locker room. He was already changed back into his regular clothes.
Then her heart twisted in multiple knots as she watched Adrien walking to another girl. "Wh-Wha..." unable to speak clearly, she knew what was to come next.
The burning sensation in her eyes, triggering those salty tears. They were beginning to form as Alya wrapped an arm around her, understanding what was going on. "Let's go," she murmured, leading her friend directly outside.
Marinette didn't care where she was taking her. In fact, nothing seemed to matter at all. She felt numb, nothing but emptiness in her chest. Did Adrien do this to her?
That's when the tears began to fall down her cheeks. She wanted to run home, up the stairs to her room, fall face first onto the bed, and cry into her pillow.
Yes, that was her plan. It didn't matter to her if Alya was there or not. The comfort was helping a little, but not enough for a faintly broken heart.
Marinette thought Adrien enjoyed the kiss they shared. She may be overreacting, and it may seem silly... but her heart was sensitive believe it or not.
Then suddenly, the urge to cry went away. A small gain of unexpected confidence filled Marinette's chest as she wiped the moisture from her cheeks and turned to her best friend. "Let's go shopping. I need to get ready for my night with Luka." She said in a blunt tone.
