•The City Of Paris: 8:10 AM•
Ladybug swung through the city with ease thanks to her yo-yo. It wasn't that hard getting out of school as Marinette just so she could save the day as her alter ego.
Miss Bustier had the TV turned on in the classroom. It was set on the news channel just as any daily routine in the morning.
The reporter mentioned something about a severe car chase happening on Main Street by the Eiffel Tower. So Marinette decided she wanted to help the police on this one.
It may not have been as severe as an akuma from HawkMoth, but as a hero it was her duty to protect Paris.
Once hit with the information, Marinette had raised her hand to ask Miss Bustier if she could use the restroom. And as always, that excuse had worked.
But what was strange was that Adrien asked the teacher the same exact question as Marinette left. What a coincidence I guess.
Ladybug was now running and leaping across buildings, getting closer and closer to the chase.
"How ya doing over there m'lady?!" Chat called from across the street to the other long row of buildings, doing the same as Ladybug. Jumping from building to building.
She decided to tease him just a little. Why not? It wasn't like their city was in any harmful trouble. "I was doing great until you showed up, kitty!" She winked.
Ladybug noticed that Chat's green eyes widened slightly.
Of course, Ladybug hardly ever teased him in such ways of flirting as he did all the time.
But like she thought, why not? It was quite entertaining by seeing the leather wearing hero all flustered in surprise for a change.
So she decided to throw in a pun, "What's wrong?! Cat got your tongue?!" She couldn't help but giggle softly. Smooth move.
Chat slowly smiled at her. But his eyes shown her that he was smiling in a way that meant more than friendship.
This made Ladybug's heart drop slightly. When the two first met, she thought of him nothing more than just an annoying partner wearing a cat super suit.
Then Ladybug realized he was more than just a partner. He became her friend during all the previous akuma battles, and crime fights. She hasn't felt as lonely as she use to while fighting all of those villains.
She also knew that Chat had feelings for her, if it wasn't anymore obvious from the not so secret stares he had been giving her.
The kind of feelings that could break anyone's heart when told the truth. And that truth was rejection. Deep down, Ladybug didn't want to reject Chat. She liked being his friend, and having him beside her fighting crime.
She wanted to be right beside him whenever they beat HawkMoth someday.
From knowing how he felt about her, she normally would've just told the boy to get lost. But something inside of her was keeping her from it.
Was it because she didn't want to fight her battles alone anymore? Yes, that was the reason.
Ladybug shook her head. Now wasn't the time to think about that. She needed to help the police track down the car.
She began to hear the car sirens fade away and turned to her feline companion, "Hey Chat Noir! Can you hear where the sirens are going?!"
He winked at her, "Sure can!" He paused for a second, his cat ears flicking a couple times.
