•Miss Bustier's Classroom: 8:18 AM•

•Adrien's POV•

Thump. Thump. Thump.

He knows... Luka knows... Adrien's brows creased, his eyes closed tightly. How...?? How could he figure it out so easily??

Adrien couldn't believe what happened right before class. Luka found out. He found out that he was Chat Noir. But how was the real question?

His heart raced at least 900 miles per minute, more questions roaming through his mind.

Thump.

Was it the hair?

Thump.

My voice?

Thump.

Or... wait a second... was it when I saw him walking with Marinette??

"Dude," Adrien felt a nudge on the shoulder. He blinked a couple times, hearing nothing but silence.

No, seriously. Complete silence. The entire class was staring at him.

Miss Bustier, chalk in hand, was frowning at Adrien, "Adrien, is everything ok?"

Adrien's eyes widen, blushing a little in the cheeks. "Y-Yes ma'am.." he nodded slowly.

Miss Bustier nodded slowly before she went back to teaching. But Adrien's mind drifted back to Luka.

Just... how?? How was it possible? How could his identity not be a secret already? If it spread...

No. He couldn't think like that. Surely Luka would keep his trap shut? Right?

Adrien exhaled slowly, shaking his head. Nino noticed this, leaning over.

"Adrien, are you sure you're okay, man? You're a little pale in the face."

Adrien put his hands on the table, shooting him a believable smile. "I'm sure, Nino. I appreciate your concern."

Nino stared at him for a moment, but got the hint and nodded before looking back to the teacher.

Adrien, now back to being trapped in his own mind full of questions, sighed to himself.

He had a lot of problems going on at once...

He couldn't choose between Marinette or Ladybug.

He's got fencing practice, piano lessons, and his modeling shoot.

And now he's got Luka, a boy who's dead set interested in his little bluenette and threatening to get between their friendship.

Adrien clenched a fist, not realizing the poor pencil starting to break from within his grasp.

"Adrien..?"

A soft voice snapped him back to reality. Adrien quickly looked up, seeing that very bluenette. Her sky blue eyes were bright with concern.

He then realized that they were the only ones in the classroom.

"What....? Where's... Where is everyone?" Adrien asked, scanning around to make sure nobody else was in the room with them.

"The bell rang. Class is over," Marinette tilted her head to the side, "Are you sure you're okay?" She motioned to his clenched hand, putting one of her own on top of his. "You seem stressed."

The action caused Adrien's heart to skip a beat. He was beyond confused. Mari never made him feel this way before.

So why now...? She's just a-

Marinette placed the back of her free hand on his forehead, "You're a little warm. Do I need to take you to the nurse?"

Finally, Adrien smiled. "You don't have to worry about me, Mari. I'm fine."

"Fine? You're just fine?" She shook her head. "I don't believe you. I don't believe you one bit." That was when she took ahold of Adrien's hand again, and forced him to stand.

"Grab your things," Marinette demanded, "I'm taking you to the nurse."

Adrien made a face, "When have you become so bossy?"

"Ever since I started standing up to Chloe," Marinette bent down to grab Adrien's bag, handing it to him. "Now let's go."

Adrien and Marinette headed straight for the nurse's office. Oddly enough Adrien was happy that he was getting to spend this small amount of time with her. It was as if Ladybug didn't matter to him anymore. Only his best friend...

So he did something.

He slipped his hand into hers.

Marinette looked down at their hands, and smiled.

"What's this for?" She asked.

"Mari, I..." Adrien started to say.

Marinette stopped, turning to look up at the nervously blushing banana child. (Yes I just put that☺️)

He swallowed roughly, but found the courage to finally let it out.

"Marinette... we've been friends for a while now... a long time, actually. I didn't realize how close we were until I had to move away for personal reasons. It was then that I knew my life was going to change. Because you weren't in it..."

"A-Adrien, I..."

Adrien held up a hand, "I know I'm pretty dense... well... very dense. I'm oblivious to a ton of things. I always push away and say that you're just a friend, b-but... I've been thinking a lot lately.. are you really just a friend to me?"

Marinette's eyes widen, completely speechless. Her palms were beginning to sweat, but her eyes couldn't be broken from his. All she wanted to do was stare.

Adrien pursed his lips together in a firm line, "I might be stupid for doing this... but I don't care anymore. This feels right to do..."

"What do you-"

That was when our beloved cinnamon bun finally leaned in, and pressed his own lips to Marinette's softly.
