"Y/n?" My bestfriend, Shawn, asked as we laid on the grass.

"Yeah?" I said.

"I promise you.... I'll marry you someday," He said, looking at the sky. I laughed lightly as I turned to look at him.

"Shawnie.. we're 10! We're just kids," I sighed as I laid back down.

"Then I guess I'm a kid in love," He shrugged.

"Yeah, we're just kids in love," I sighed.

"I love this feeling," He said.

"What feeling?" I asked.

"The feeling of being a kid in love," He said. "I see adults arguing in a relationship, saying they fall out of love. And I don't want that. This feeling, being a kid in love, is amazing. I want to feel it forever.... The feeling of having butterflies in my stomach whenever I look at you. The feeling of being excited of going to school everyday just so that I could see you and stare at you as long as I like as the teacher discusses the new lesson of the day. The feeling of having my cheeks hurt because of smiling so much whenever I see you. The feeling of thinking any conversation that we could have just to hear your voice. I love that type of feeling....... Being a kid in love."

"Shawn...." I said, speechless.

"When we grow a little more old.... I'll court you, love you, marry you," He said. "And I know that... when it comes to you.... I'll always be a kid in love."

5 Years Later...........

Shawn's touring now.... and I'm really proud of him. But we lost contact. We don't talk anymore.. probably because he's busy.

It was a normal night and I was just cleaning up my room. I heard someone playing a guitar and singing outside the house. I opened my window to see my old friend...... Shawn.

We both laughed as we pulled away to look at each other. Wow, he changed a lot.

"I know, right?" He chuckled.

"Did I say that out loud?" I giggled.

"Yeah," He smirked. "But there's one thing that didn't change...."

"What's that?" I asked.

"I'm still a kid in love," He said. "For you."
