I Wrote A Letter... (chicklit prompt)

Sitting at my desk after getting home from London, I pulled out a piece of paper and pen. Then, I stared at it for a long time. Honestly? I didn't know what to say. I was still completely shocked.

"Oh lord, you're still lost in the clouds, aren't you?" Alice burst through the door and planted herself next to me with her hands on her hips. "Vivianne, snap out of it."

I looked up. "I don't know how you can be so cavalier about all of this. And I really don't get how you'd give up an opportunity with Ryan."

"Yeah? Well, I don't get why you're diving into the deep end with Justin." She stormed out of my room muttering to herself.

Then... I went back to staring at the piece of paper.

Finally, I lifted the pen and started writing.

Justin,

I had an amazing time. My and Alice's lives have seemed like a fairytale over the last several months. I didn't even imagine things getting more surreal. But when I met you at the party, it was like a dream. I have no words to express how I feel knowing that feel the same.

I want to thank you. Not only for saving me from that creep. But also for bringing my heart back alive. I know we just met, and I know that I'm a true romantic. However, I was determined hide away for a bit.

You brought me back out... you brought my heart back out.

I'm excited to see where this goes.

I folded the paper neatly and, again, stared at it.

That is, until I snatched it up, crumpled it and threw it away.

Three days later, Justin called. Alice eyed me as I ran out onto the patio with a huge smile on my face, but I ignored her. "Hey! How are you?"

He chuckled. "I'm good. Missing you."

Of course, I giggled. "So, I wrote you a letter, but I was too afraid to send it."

"Why?" he asked.

"Oh, it was just silly and mushy." I bit my lip.

"I'm pretty sure that's going to be the tag line for what we have." I could hear his smile in his words.

I sighed, happily. "I hope so."
