Most people had left now, but Oli and Scott were still here. We wanted to do something fun while we still had the chance, so we decided to go out. There was an arcade place about fifteen minutes drive away, so we decided to go there.
"Hey, Katelyn? We're thinking about going to the arcade - are you up for it?" Joel asked.
"Sure!"
I ran upstairs to see Katelyn in her room.
"You sure you want to go?" I asked.
"Yeah. But, you don't have to do all of this for me. Just being adopted is more than enough." She said.
"Come here," I said, putting my arm around her, "I know. But Joel and I, we want to help you make happy memories, instead of thinking about what happened at the orphanage. You've never been treated right and we want to change that."
Katelyn smiled her big smile. "Thankyou." She smiled, hugging me.
"So what are we waiting for!" I laughed and we both ran down the stairs.
All five of us got into the car, laughing, joking and singing along to the radio. Scott, Katelyn and Oli were messing around in the back seats, as though they'd known each other forever.
As we pulled up at the arcade, Scott asked "Have you ever been to an arcade Katelyn?"
"Nope, but that doesn't been I can't thrash you at air hockey!" She laughed, Scott smirking.
Katelyn and Scott ran into the arcade like excited kids on Christmas, Oli not far behind. I looked up at Joel and grabbed his hand. "I love you," I said. He kissed my forehead and said 'I love you too," back.
We walked into the arcade, hearing the Scottish "Nooooo!" that was instantly recognisable as Scott. We walked to the air hockey tables, where Katelyn and Scott were battling it out as though is was life and death. It was quite hilarious really. Katelyn was winning by quite a lead, but Scott was determined not to admit it. When the game ended, Scott had managed to slightly close the gap but Katelyn still won by a strong margin.
"Since he lost that one, I challenge Scott to a game on the basketball machines." Oli said, in a challenging tone.
"Oh come on," whinged Scott, "you know I'm not very good at basketball!"
"That's the point!" Oli laughed. He put his hand on Scott's shoulder in a 'good luck' way. Katelyn stood just laughing at them.
Joel looked down at me. "Well, if that's the case, I challenge you to a game too," he smirked.
I ran to the machines, competitiveness flowing out. There was no way I was letting Joel win at this. We played multiple games, but in the end Joel won. Scott won against Oli, but Oli had lost it in fits of laughter half way through as Katelyn was trying to commentate the game, but in an - admittedly awful - American accent.
We spent the next few hours being stupid in the arcade and eating KFC. It was so much fun to be hanging out with some of my favourite people, and showing Katelyn new things.

Thanks for the support so far! It means a lot. Autocorrect keeps trying to change Oli to oil, which is quite funny really.
