"Hybrid?" I asked the woman. "Your jewelry? Who are you?"

She laughed. "That damn fool. He always was one for security." She looked down at me and then proceeded to bend down and put a hand gently underneath my chin. "I, Janessa Victoria Crown am your mother."

"You are no mother to me." I scowled. "I don't have a mother now. My mother was a wretched witch and she cast me out. If you were my mother before her then you are the same. You left me. Just like she did."

"No! You do not remember! Let me remind you of our life together with your father." She lifted her hand to my forehead and when I felt her touch, the white void faded away into a bright day.

Green grass was everything you could see for miles. Behind me stood colossal diamond castle, sun rays reflected off of the moat surrounding it and made moons in the mist. Then I saw a child playing with the woman that claimed to be my mother.

"Janessa! You're all dirty, come we'll wash you in our castle."

"Moon! Moon!" The child screeched as she reached up to the stars with her chubby little arms.

"Yes, that is the moon. But not the only moon." She knelt down beside me and only then did I see her faint white aura. She reached behind her neck as the little girl started to clap her hands and giggle.

"Moon! Moon!" She giggled.

"Here, take this and you will always be protected." The child looked mesmerized by the necklace and stopped giggling and clapping. Instead she just stared longingly at the beautiful moon necklace. "When you get older and someone you do not know or do not feel comfortable with tries to hurt you, a shard of the moon that was moulded into this necklace will form a weapon of your choice." She clasped the necklace around the girls neck.

The memory faded into the white void. "I remember that." I whispered to myself.

"Next, your father." The woman's voice echoed.

The white void once again faded. This time it was inside the diamond castle. A man stood in front of me. He had soft brown eyes and his long brown hair was pulled back into a bun. A single hair was strewn across his forehead, sticking to it with sweat. He also had a little bit of stubble on his jawline from his beard beginning to grow back.

"We have to go, Janessa." He spoke calmly, as he grabbed my little hand and pulled me down the hall. "Love! Here, take her and escape, I'll hold the armies off." He yelled as he saw my mother running town the hallway.

My mother looked hurt but did not disagree with my father and ran towards the doors of the castle. Before we made it, my father showed up again. "They are everywhere." He spoke sadly. Then he exchanged a knowing glance to my mother and touched my forehead. My mother picked up her hand and moons twinkled down over my face.

The vision faded back to the void.

"There, you know now that I am not the bad guy, and neither is he. We were protecting you from those armies." The goddess spoke.

"You made it out?" I whispered. She nodded her head. "Did he?" She nodded her head again then waved her hand.

The last words I heard come from her mouth were "I love you, darling. And, your father is a lycan. He loves you also."

I woke up in the same room Nathaniel had laid me in. I gasped loudly and Nathaniel stood abruptly from across the room. I was so confused. "Janessa!" Nathaniel ran at me and hugged me tightly. "What happened?"

"A lot. My mother is the Moon Goddess. This necklace has a shard of moon inside it which can turn into a weapon. My father is a lycan, and my old family was just a foster family. I crappy one at that." I spoke, my voice breaking softly every sentence.

"That's why I could mark you. I forgot that lycans cannot properly mark werewolves." He gazed at the mark on my neck. Then his eyes moved to the necklace. "A weapon, huh? Can you walk?"

I nodded my head then he helped me off the bed. "How long was I out?" I spoke, my mouth dry.

"Too long." I heard a different voice say. I looked behind me and Caspian was walking behind us.

"Holy-" I jumped.

"Sorry. So, we've got a problem." He was not breaking focus on Nathaniel.

"Go ahead." Nathaniel spoke softly.

"They're here." Caspian put a hand on my back.

"Who's here?" I didn't have to answer the question. I knew who was here. I just needed confirmation.

"You already know." Nathaniel whispered. "I can hear your thoughts, don't forget."

"Yeah." I whispered. I couldn't shake a certain feeling that was creeping up my back. Maybe that was just Caspian's hand because Nathaniel was very protective of me, but it was deeper. Something I really couldn't shake.

Suddenly, a loud familiar voice carried through the halls. "I know that voice." I whispered. I turned around and there, standing in front of me was someone I barely knew. "Nath?" Both him and Caspian turned around.

"Do you know him?" Caspian asked softly.

"He's my father. But I don't know him." I whispered, staring into his now violent brown eyes.
