XVI - War

Janessa's P.O.V

We ran down the hallway and finally reached the fights. Caspian opened the door and waited for us to catch up.

Warrior wolves lay dead on the grass. Ones from our pack and ones from Kaydon's and Darius's packs. When I looked at who was left standing, I couldn't help but feel enraged.

Kaydon and Darius were shifted to their wolves and they were butt to butt. They were taking down our pack like it was nothing. The rest of their packs were scattered around the field fighting our pack.

"Oh my god." I whispered. I stood still, shocked at the amount of death before me.

"Love, maybe you should go and wait in the safe houses." Nathaniel looked down at me.

"No. I need to fight for my pack. That's what Luna's do." I growled out so loud and shifted, not waiting for him to agree. Nath and Caspian flinched then looked at my wolf.

"What the hell?" Nath looked at my wolf as I shook out my fur.

Good to be out for a run, J. My wolf laughed. I laughed with her. I had never really used my wolf because of how big it was. It was bigger than a normal alpha wolf and my fur was sleek and white.

I growled and ran towards Kaydon and Darius. I jumped on a wolf that was running towards me. I tackled the wolf to the ground and growled. The wolf tried to get up, but I headbutted him. I groaned as I saw stars, no one ever wins with a headbutt.

Before he regained consciousness, I bite his throat. He howled and thrashed again. That caused me to hold on tighter until his fighting died down. I stood back and looked at the first wolf I ever killed. It's kinda sad if you think about it.

'Janessa! Watch out!' I heard a lycan yell through our pack link. I looked up and saw someone running towards me. What the hell? I let out a groan as I get tackled to the ground.  I hear a growl come from above me and I tried to see who it was. But that's when a lycan tackled them off of me. I quickly got up and helped them.

I charged at the wolf's side and I heard one of his ribs crack. When he fell, the lycan didn't waste any time on jumping on top of him and biting his neck. 'Thanks.' I said to him when he got off his lifeless body. 'No problem. That's what packs are for, Luna.' He said. We both ran off to help with the fight.

I zig zagged through the fight until I saw a lycan that caught my attention fighting against two wolves. 'Need some help?' I said to him. A familiar voice answered and looked up and gave me a wolfie smirk. 'Yes please, love.' Nathaniel glanced at me and I tackled a wolf that was about to jump on top of him. I let another lycan handle that one as I saw a wolf slowly creep up on Nath out of the corner of my eye. Oh hell no. You aren't hurting my boyfriend today.

I turned towards the wolf and he jumped as I spotted him. He turned to run and I chased him away from Nathaniel. Damn he's fast, but not fast enough. When I finally caught up to him, I tackled him and we both went rolling in the dirt. He got up and went to attack, but thankfully I dodged his bite. Now we were both circling each other.

Suddenly the wolves within ten feet of me all fell down. They shifted back, all of them naked, and they started puking blood as they held their stomachs tightly. Nathaniel's voice rang through my ears. 'You're half lycan so you can do the domination thing.'

I smirked and shook out my now bloodied fur. Then, I growled so loud and shifted back. When lycans switch back from their wolves, they're still fully clothed which was a plus for me. I grabbed the necklace around my neck and the sword appeared in my hand. I scanned the field and saw Kaydon and Darius staring at me. 'Ready Nath?' I asked through the link.

'Hell Yeah.' He responded. I chuckled and we both ran at them.

'Don't kill Darius. We'll lock them up in our jail.' I spoke, Nathaniel agreed. Then I was face to face with Kaydon.

"It looks like it's just you and Darius left." I said to Kaydon. "Soon enough, it'll be no one." I threatened. Kaydon gave me a wolfie smirk. 'You wouldn't kill your mate, now would you?' His voice rang through my mind.

"Oh, you think I won't kill you because you're my mate?" I chuckled. Then I put the sword to the chin of his wolf. "Think again." Then he flinched so hard. But I didn't drive the sword through him. I instead did the domination thing to drop both him and Darius to the ground.

"To the jail." I growled.
