i got off the elevator and walked towards the paternity area. "how can i help you?" a nurse at the front desk asked.

"here to see natalia birlem" i answered. she typed something in her computer then got up.

she handed me a pink gown to put on, she led me inside the room where they had all these carts with baby's laying in them.

[ hopefully you guys know what kind of carts i'm talking about ]

we stopped at one and i looked down to see a small but nicely sized baby, wrapped in a blanket sleeping peacefully.

"she needs to have the tube connected due to being premature but it'll only be for awhile she'll need it" she assured me.

"can you tell me a bit about the whole premature thing?" i asked. she nodded and started saying,

"premature birth is birth that happens too soon, before 37 weeks. babies born this early may have more health problems or need to stay in the hospital longer than babies born later and each year, about 1 in 10 babies in the united states are born prematurely."

"but in her case, she's only gonna need observation with the lungs but with everything else she's ok and healthy" the nurse smiled at me.

i nodded and looked at natalia, "she's beautiful" she said. "she sure is" i said.

"would you like to hold her?". i nodded and she had fixed something then picked up the baby slowly giving her to me.

i fixed my posture and looked down at her feeling the connection with her. the nurse excused herself and left.

i sat down in a rocking chair that was right next to me and got comfortable. "natalia rose birlem" i whispered as i looked over her tiny little face.

she had so many of my features that she looked just like sophia.

although she might be a baby still i could see it just by looking at her.

such a beautiful little angel.

i kissed her forehead and whispered, "this world you were brought into is such a crazy world filled with many dangerous and horrifying things but know that daddy's gonna protect you at all costs. no matter what it takes your my number one priority princess, you're my little angel. and know you're gonna be safe with dada bc he will protect you no matter what. i love you natalia rose birlem."
