Chapter Seven

        I tiptoe down to the room I was just in, what if this is what gets me killed? Or will he share it with me? Can I just ask him what is in the room? No. He won’t. I can’t wait until Sunday. Wait, we have two more dates, that mean he isn’t trying to kill me. I open the door and go to the right this time. Am I prepared for what I am going to see? I walk to a desk with a sign that says, Last people to see LAM. Those are initials, okay. This is the last place she was seen, AMC Theater on 22nd Street.  There is a list of all the people who were there:

And more. I was there? What movie? Next board was connecting the people to the movie and who was together.

OH my goodness, I loved UP. I didn’t even know they were there.

There is a display board showing the whole movie theater that was connected the most crowded mall in our city. This was eighth grade?

How old was his sister? My age? Is that why he is looking for a girl my age? Are they twins? I continue to see the parking lot, where Lacey was last seen. He has tiny cars on display, with a report on each car and who they belonged to. He is really determined. He said he didn’t know Ashley, he knows all about her, he has her on a corkboard in his secret room.

I continue walking to see a file cabinet, Lacey’s Friends.

I didn’t even know her, I wish I could have been her friend. Why? To be put in Luke’s filing cabinet. He knew me before I dyed my hair. He knew my name, he didn’t have to ask. He knows where I live, he has my number stored. What is he planning? I continue, forty minutes left.

I see another one, he has all the possible information, why hasn’t he figured it out yet? I opened the filing cabinet that was labeled, Locations.  Why has he waited almost two years? What if she is still out there? I keep looking. I walk back to the left section with the shipping list. I don’t think he is selling girls. If he is, I am screwed.

I walk back to the filing cabinet where I found Greg Burns.  Who are these people and why is he accepting their blackmail? Is this part his fault? Is this why he is trying so hard to figure it out?
