Chapter #39

*one week later*
Maddy's POV;

Today was the big day for the gender reveal. I decided to not tell Colby that I already knew. It just makes my life easier. For the reveal we decided to do something unique by having Circa wearing a collar with a small box on it that has a ring that I had ordered that said, "Have fun dealing with another princess" and inside has pink confetti. Fehler helped come up with that.

I set up some of the decorations in the backyard when Kait walked back here with me. I looked at her with a big grin. It had again been a few days since I've last saw her, because of Sam's stupid mouth. She came by on Monday, today was Saturday, and helped me pick out pink, blue and yellow decorations.

"Hey Fehler, what do you think so far?" I ask.

"I love it! Oh I have something to tell you, I think Brennen might ask me out during the gender reveal" She smiles.

"That's great! I think you two would make a great couple" I say smiling back.

"Anyways that not the only reason I came here I also came here to give you this" She says handing me a small box.

I set down the blue banner I was holding, "Oh Fehler! you didn't have to get me anything! You being here is enough".

"Please? I want you to have this" She insisted.

I take the small box gently from her hands and open it to see a small collar and a necklace. I set the box on the table and take out the collar and necklace. There was also a note in the bottom of the box. I read the note and it said,

You have been my best friend since forever. I will always love you. Here is a necklace, if you haven't read it it says 'best' and I have the other part that says sisters. Oh and the collar is for the puppy you will get once you turn the duck around. Its also a girl so that way, you, me, the baby, and the dog can all have a girls day lol. Anyways I'll wrap this up so you can see the dog.

I take out the necklace and see it does say 'best'. I smile and hold it in my hands. I turn around and see Kait holding a small French Bulldog in her hands.

"Aww she's adorable! Thank you so much!" I say carefully taking the puppy from Fehler's hands.

"Imma call you...Marien. Short for Marienkäfer or ladybug" I say with a big ass grin.

"I like it" Fehler smiles.

I set down Marien(Ma-Reen) and hug Kait.

"Thankyou for all you have done for me and dealing with my pregnant ass for so long".

"Bish I've had to deal with before you became pregnant" Kait laughs.

I laugh with her and pick up Marien again and cuddle with her. "Oh yeah while I was picking her up I saw her sister there too so that mean we're gonna have to make sure they have play dates haha" Kait laughs again.

"Totally" I laugh with her. "Can you help me finish decorating? Oh and setting up the cupcakes and cake?" I ask.

"Of course!" She smiles and picks up the blue banner I had set down before.

*2 hours later*

I let out a huff of breath as soon as I put down the last pink cupcake down on the tier. The tier had five levels, each getting bigger as you went from the top. We had one-hundred and fifty cupcakes and a two pound cake. These bitches better eat this shit. There is fifty of each cupcake, I know for sure because I did the math. I actually didn't realize how many cupcakes we, well we as in Fehler, Colby and I, bought until I started putting them down.

"So what time will everyone get here about?" I hear Fehler ask.

"Around about like five thirty and it'll last until like seven or eight" I explain.

"Alright, Brennen will be here at like four forty five. And its...three fifty now so I think he can help set up the last few things inside the house" Kait states.

"Alright sounds good" I agree letting out a tired breath with it.

"Go sit and relax I'll take it from here" Kait insists.

"I couldn't do that to you" I say sympathetically.

"No arguing, no go sit" She pushes.

I just oblige and go into the house to cool of and get some water. I put the cup up to my mouth and take a slow drink, the cold water clearing my dry mouth, I savour the taste. It may sound weird but then your fucking exhausted, water tastes better than anything.

~time skip to after the reveal cuz I'm too lazy to write that part~

I was gleaming with joy and I could tell Colby was excited. He made sure to throw the confetti out of the boxes once he finished reading and putting the ring on. Right at this second I was by the pool sitting in a chair talking to Devyn, Kristen, Mariah(is that how you spell Heath's girlfriends name?), Liza, and of course Fehler.

We were all chatting away when Brennen began to speak loudly, "Everyone, I want to make an announce and well, ask a certain girl a very important question. And hopefully this isn't too soon!"

He walks over to Fehler and I had a pretty good idea what he was gonna do. Everyone crowded around and watched Brennen. I searched around the crowd of people to find Sam with a scared look on his face.

"Kaitrine Charmainge Lowery will you make me an even better man and make me also the happiest man alive and become my girl friend?" He asks pulling out a promise ring and going down on one knee to almost propose.

While him asking this Kait had stood up and had happy tears cloaking down here cheeks and her hands covered over her mouth.

"Brennen?! Yes! Yes, yes, yes!" She screams.

He smiles and slips the promise ring onto a finger and stands up to give her a kiss. Everyone began to call and cheer. I even stood up and decided to give Brennen a little warning. I grab his collar and yank him down to my level.

"If you even think about hurting her, you better hope that I'm giving birth otherwise I will beat the living hell out of you" I glare him.

"I would never hurt her, I'm not an idiot to risk losing someone as brilliant as her" He smiles looking to the side at her.

I release him and smile back, "At least someone is smart enough" I say glaring at Sam.

Brennen chuckles and goes back over to Kait. I see them kiss again and hold each other. 'Yeah. They'll be time's I smile thinking to myself.

Wow...one more chapter to go. It feels unreal to be honest. Like I love this book to bits and I can't imagine not writing this. I guess that means I'll have to have a sequel huh?! Anyways see you all in the next chapter! 👋
