The Day You Both Left (A Colby Brock and Sam Golbach Fanfic)

Chapter #33

Kait's POV;

     "I'm yes I am. Why might I ask?" She asked nicely. "May we come in? So I can tell you?" I asked kindly. "Oh sure! Go ahead and take a seat on the couch" She said moving out of the doorway. M and I walked into the apartment and I gotta admit it was really nice.

   M and I say on the couch while Kat sat in the chair in front of us and a nice black coffee table. "Oh, I'm Kaitrine and this is Maddy" I introduced us.

   "But enough of that, we'll tell you why we're here and then see if you'd be on board with something" M explained. Katrina just nodded and listened. "Kait, you wanna explain?" M asked. I nodded my head and sucked in a breath. Then I explained the whole thing. 

   By the end of telling the whole thing, even the prank idea, I was out I breath, Maddy was silent, and Katrina was at a lost for words. Suddenly the black haired girl broke the awkward silence, "I am so so so sorry...". "Hey its all good, you didn't know" I smiled and shrugged. "No it's not all good! I can't believe he would do that to you! Too me!" She exclaimed.

   "That's why we are doing this prank. It'll teach him a lesson" I state. She sat there quiet again before saying the words I wanted to hear, "I'm in".

~driving home~

    M and I began driving home when I let out a heavy sigh. "You okay Kait?" M asked. "Yeah, it's just. It's hard to take this all in y'know? I feel like, I don't know, maybe it would be better if I just left it be and let Sam stop on his own" I say with uncertainty filling my voice. "What! Kait listen to me. You can't just let this go, you have too take action". I opened my mouth to speak but Maddy cut my off.

   "No, listen. If you don't do anything about this, Sam will never stop. Remember Alex from Middle School? The guy you dated for almost three years, knowing he was cheating on you, then had the damn nerve to breakup with you on your damn birthday to be with that ho Emma? You can't let this just slide right past you" M said. I sighed and nod gripping the steering wheel tightly.

  "It's gonna suck especially since you guys have been together for what? Three years?" M asks. "Wow, I'm getting some De já vú right now" I laugh.

  "I think three is your worst number..." M admits. "Yeah! Remember the first week of high school? The first two days were fine, but then that stupid ass third day hit and bam! I met Sam" I burst out laughing. Soon after M joins in on the fits of laughter and we begin to basically stop breathing from laughing so hard.

    Before we knew it, we were back home and in the driveway. "This Wednesday should be an interesting day" I say unbuckling my seat belt and getting out of the car. M does the same thing and we close our door in sync. We walk into the house and go straight to the kitchen. I grab a tub of ice cream from the freeze and make two bowls for M and I. "So I was wondering if you wanted to go to the appointment with me to find out the baby's gender?" M asks.

  I look at her with the biggest smile and nod quickly. "But when we find out, you can't tell anyone because then we are gonna do a gender reveal for the whole house and our friends" M explains. "I would love to go! And I promise I won't tell another soul" I smile.

    I hand M her bowl of ice cream and we slowly eat ice cream together and just talk. It was really nice. It feels like it has been so long since Maddy and I could really just sit and talk with each other. I remember when we first met in elementary we would talk all day and then talk for twenty minutes straight on our parents landline phones each night.

  Then once we got out own phones and began hanging out after school more, we would spend at least five hours on the phone with each other. I can truly say that Maddy is the only person is good ever want to spend hours upon hours a day with. She is my best friend without a doubt.
