Chapter 13 ~ Thank The Stars

"Morning, baby boy" Patton whispers as my eyes open.  I smile up at him before leaning up to kiss him. 
"Good Morning" I whisper back before rolling off of him and stretching my arms.  He winks at me as he gets off the bed and leaves the room.  I grin to myself, thinking about just how lucky I am. 
He returns a few minutes later with marmite toast and a bowl of cinnamon crunch.  He hands me the plate of toast as he sits back down.
"Thank you" I say quietly.  This is how we start every day now, every day since we've been together. 
"Happy three weeks by the way". He says as we finish our breakfast.
"What?"
"Anniversary, it's our three week anniversary" He says with a smirk.  I didn't forget, I've been counting, but I didn't know if he was, so I play it off as if I forgot.  He leans over the side of the bed and reaches underneath it, pulling out a card and handing it to me.  I laugh at his adorable gesture.  The envelope reads:  'For The Loml! (That means love of my life)'.  I almost cry, love of his life?  I open the envelope, being careful not to damage it, I wanna frame it.  I open the card, that has a cartoon bear holding a heart on the front.
'Dear Virgil,
I know this is cheesy, and it's only been three weeks, but I'm so in love with you.  You're one of the best things that has ever happened to me, you're the best boyfriend anyone could ask for, and I can't wait for our future together.

I place the card on my nightstand and lean over to kiss him.
"Oh!"  He says against my lips, reaching down over the side of the bed again, and pulling out a red rose.  Where does he keep getting these from?  God, he's amazing.  I smell the flower before putting it on my nightstand and going back to kissing him.  I get lost in his taste, but then remember that I have a card for him too!  I open the bedside drawers and pull it out, handing it to him.  He looks surprised.
"You didn't think I'd actually forgotten had you?"  I laugh.  He rips open the envelope after reading the words 'The Best Boyfriend' that I wrote on the white envelope.  I lean my head on his shoulder, half to look at the card, half to spellcheck myself. 
'Dear Patton,
I'm not so great with words, but here we go:
I've never felt this way about anyone, ever.  Every day for these past three weeks I've thanked the stars that I get to wake up next to you.  I love you, Patton, so much.  I'm so grateful that I get to call you not only my boyfriend, but my best friend.

He stays silent for a minute, reading it over before putting it on his nightstand.
"You like it?"  I ask hopefully.  He suddenly pushes me to lie down on my back, climbing on top of me with his knees either side of me hips. 
"I love it" he says, staring into my eyes, before pushing forward and kissing me hard.  "And I love you".

As mentioned in the last post, there are unmentioned time skips in this story, which is why everything seems to happen so quickly 😂.   Hope you're all having a great day ❤️
