Chapter 5

Connor's POV:

"You're going to Burr University" Mom says, I choose to look away.

"I can't" I say.

She sighs and adds on. "Connor we both know it's the best option for you, it's either that or no college"

"But what about Evan?" I ask, mom sighs and holds my hand, I quickly move my hand away.

"You'll still be able to visit him, you can always figure something out" Mom says, I can feel anger start to rise in my body.

"But it won't be the same mom"

"Look Connor I know it won't but it'll be good for you in the long run trust me, you'll get your schedule for college in 2 weeks"

"2 weeks? Then when does school start?"

"About a month from now"

"So you're saying I only have a month to be with Evan?"

"You'll still be able to see him even in college honey"

"YEAH BUT IT WON'T BE THE SAME, MY LIFE WILL BE RUINED" I say while storming up to my room, I hear dad come into the living room and start talking to mom, I decide to eavesdrop on they're conversation.

"How was the talk?" Dad says.

"Oh... he doesn't want to but I think he knows it'll be good for him"

"He better, you know what I'll make sure he does don't worry"

"Ok Larry just don't talk to him right now, he's having a hard time comprehending all of this. He hasn't been this far from Evan in his whole life"

"Well he's gonna have to learn"

"Yes I know Larry I know, let's just not talk about this for the rest of the night ok?"

"That's fine but we'll have to talk to him again tomorrow, we have to make sure he's on board with this"

"Ok Larry, we'll talk about it tomorrow let's go upstairs and get ready for bed.

I sigh and silently shut my room door, I unlock my window and climb out, once my feet touch the ground I run. I decide to take the shortcut, I run through so many backyards until I finally make it to the familiar Hansen backyard, I climb up to Evan's window out of breath. I look in to see he's not there, I open the window anyway and hop onto his bed.

Yep still broken.

I jump down from his bed and open his bedroom door, I can see Heidi is passed out on her bed.

Thank god.

I walk over to the bathroom, I can hear Evan brushing his teeth, I smile. I decide to go back to Evan's bedroom and wait for him there, I throw my sweatshirt onto his floor and get under the covers of his bed. Suddenly Evan walks back into his room, he sits on his bed and sighs.

"Oh Con I wish you were here right now" I hear him say, I smile.

"Hey Ev" I say, Evan turns around and let's out a tiny squeal, I laugh.

"Con when did you get here?"

"Like two minutes ago, I can't believe you didn't notice me" I say, he comes over to me and kisses me, I kiss him back.

"Ev I have to tell you something" I say, I can tell he's starting to get worried.

"My parents are forcing me to go to Burr University"

"B-but you'll be so far away then"

I sigh and start to wrap my arms around him.

"I know... I don't want to go either but it might be best for me and maybe we can work it all out, it'll just take some time to get used to"

"But I don't want you to leave me Con"

"Ev I'll try everything I can to be in touch with you, now let's go to bed and sleep on this. I promise we won't loose each other, no matter what happens I won't let you go"
