Evan's POV:

"Knock knock" Jared says, he's standing right outside my doorway. I barely hear him because I'm half asleep laying on my bed.

"I said knock knock" Jared says.

"So you decided you can just come in here without telling anyone?" I ask.

"Yeah, I was too lazy to text you so I just drove over here and besides aren't you used to it by now?" He says.

I sit up from my bed, my hair is a mess.

"I guess..."

"So dick face how are you?"

"What did you just call me"

"Dick face, Connor thinks so too"

I'm trying so hard to just forget about Connor but of course that's all I can think about. I mean if I were him I'd call me a dick face too.

"Anyway I'm tired so go away" I say and lay back down on my bed.

"It's only what? Like seven?"

"Don't care"

"I'm staying here for the night, my parents are gone on a trip and I have nothing better to do so move over" Jared says while sitting on my bed. I sigh.

"Did my mom just not care when you walked in the door?"

"No, Heidi loves me"

"Of course she does"

"Hey you wanna see what I got?" Jared says.

"I-"

He cuts me off. "Too bad" He says while slamming down a book in front of my face. I sit up and read the cover.

"The Book of Mormon?" I ask.

"Yep, I got it from one of my Mormon college friends"

"Why?"

"Why not?"

Guess I can't argue with that.

"I've heard rumors about weird shit in this book" Jared says.

"You're weird" I say.

"Look Evan I'm just interested"

"If I were your Mormon friend I would never give this book to you, Jared this is like their bible, it's special"

"I know I'm not gonna ruin it, I just wanna look at it"

"How many pages is it anyway?" I say while picking up the book and looking through it.

"I don't know"

"Your friend must have been so dumb to give this to you, I mean you're gonna probably offend them now"

"If I read this book his mom will like me"

"Oh? So his mom doesn't like you?"

"Well I may have called him a bad Mormon one time and his mom almost killed me so..."

"So you already offended them?"

"Yes which is why I need to read this book"

I roll my eyes.

"You know what Jared, you do you"

"You want me to read it to you as a bedtime story?"

"What the heck Jared, no! Would you read a bible to your kids as a bedtime story"

"Yep"

"Of course you would" I say closing my eyes and slowly falling asleep.
