OMG I'M SO HAPPY!!!!! BROBI ISN'T DOING A JOB THAT ACTUALLY KILLS SOMEONE, AND I GET TO GO WITH HIM!!!!(and yes brobi,don't judge me!!) I wonder what he has to do, what is his employer like? Will he really let me tag along? I'm so nervous! What if I get in the way? Deep breath Ari. Whatever happens, happens.
Okay time to get up, Obi is probably getting breakfast so I should make sure that we don't forget anything, even though we don't really have much.
We both carry one bag for our belongings. About half of my bag is for herb related things; medicines,books,etc. The rest is my clothes. I make sure Obi carries some medicine to heal flesh wounds and exhaustion -since he's always been a night owl. He also carries his weapons and of course his clothes. I was done checking out our room and got ready. I put on some pants and a shirt that goes a bit over my thighs. (A/N Like Kiki's outfit, but in green and blue,like Obi's outfit) As I was putting my long hair into a side braid Obi came in with breakfast. "Ready??"he asked. I smiled and said, "I'm good to go!!!"

When Obi and I reached our destination, I stared dumbfounded at the place in front of me. IT WAS A CASTLE!!!!! I mean when he said he got another job, I assumed it was a job as a jeweler's security guard or something. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I never would've expected this!!
I turned toward Obi with my arms crossed waiting for an explanation. He looked at me and rubbed his neck as he awkwardly laughed. " I guess I forgot to mention that my employer was a lord didn't I?" he said. I sighed, " Yes. Yes you did. Sometimes I forget you're my older brother (cue facepalm).... Well what are we doing waiting here! We can't keep royalty waiting!!" I ran with my brother toward the big wall. He jumped over it and I sighed, we better not get in trouble. I followed him to a tree near an outdoor hallway. It was still well before noon so there weren't many servants to see us jump down to who I assume is brobi's employer. His name was Lord Haruka and he said that he didn't care if I tagged along with Obi as long as I don't show my face to the guards. I smiled and agreed to his terms and he explained what we have to do. There was one thing I didn't understand though. "Excuse me, Lord Haruka?"I asked before we left. "What is it,child?" he said. " Why exactly are we scaring off this lady? I mean she doesn't exactly seem to be doing anything wrong here." "I doubt you would understand, but if you must know, she could use her connections with the crown to her own advantage. That would taint the crown's image, especially Prince Zen since he 'befriended' her." " I guess it makes sense. Even though you went really low," he flinched, " you are still looking out for the crown and that's pretty nice!"I said and smiled. He was surprised but composed himself. He coughed and said, "Well thank you. I will be on my way. Obi you know what to do with this." He handed Obi a scroll of paper.
"And Ari," he continued, "make sure you stay hidden." He patted my head and as he did there was a near invisible smile. I smiled at him and nodded. Obi and I jumped off the ledge, since we were on the second floor, and into the trees. We headed toward the front gate of the castle and Obi jumped down to the path and casually walked up to the guards and showed them the paper thingy with a forged signature saying the girl wasn't allowed to enter. What Obi didn't know was that the person who we were trying to keep away had re-entered the castle grounds. As Obi was trying to process that she was in the castle, I saw her. I made a special bird call telling him I saw the target. He turned around and saw her as she ran inside. I was already following her.
I have to admit she's very pretty, her hair reminds me of the ura shigure. It was really pretty when it bloomed but I always liked akegi shigure a smidge more. Wait-now is not the time to get distracted by herbs. I continue to chase the lady who I am calling Ura for now. She ran into some guards who didn't know we were trying to keep her out. Darn it she's probably suspicious. She started heading up a flight of stairs. I heard Obi's bird call and went toward it. He was on top of a tower farther away. I got to him quickly and he took out his bow and arrow and tied a note to it. I was handed Obi's telescope. He asked me to watch her ascend the steps and tell him when to shoot so that the arrow was right in front of her. Ura continued to climb and then as she was nearing the opening we were aiming for I told him to shoot. It shot right in front of her face. I chuckled as I watched her. Obi looked at me with an eyebrow raised. "She read the message,grabbed the arrow, and continued running." "That arrow didn't scare her off??" "Guess not." I said. We then proceeded to follow her.
Obi was about to throw a dagger as his last warning shot, when she started talking to who I think was Prince Zen. I continued to watch them as Obi ran to find Lord Haruka on what he should do next. Zen looked straight at where Obi had been, honestly if I made a single sound he would probably see me. Ura hid the arrow behind her back.He looked back at Ura exhale that was close.I think the Prince said her name was Shirayuki. They went into a room and I followed them from the outside.
I watched through the window of the room they were in. He looked mad and I kinda felt bad that we scared her. (Sigh) The window was open and I could hear that she was trying to calm him down. Shirayuki said that she wouldn't leave here without a fight.
I smiled, she sounds very nice and brave. She seems like she's one of those people who face problems head on. I wish I could be like her. She's pretty and does what she sets her mind to. She is determined and I can tell she is strong willed. Prince Zen says that he doesn't want her to confront the person who doesn't want her around,Lord Haruka, but ends up allowing her to confront him. I bet it's like an effect she has on people, the Shirayuki effect. The prince already has a person in mind who he thinks hired us. He gets pretty sad and says some things about how it's difficult with their differences in class.
That is one reason I always felt kind of bad for royalty. Even the worst like Prince Raj of Tabarun. They are only allowed to have certain people they are allowed to interact with, they always have restrictions to decisions they make. However, there are some royals who are greedy and condescending. They even try to take from their people. I know Prince Raj is like that but I have faith that he will change. I can't really help it after living in Tanbarun for a short time I grew attached to the place. Now Prince Zen and Lord Izana, they are just amazing. The prince may be second in command but he is well known among the people. They all see Prince Zen as a kind man who sneaks out of the castle to check on his people. I remember hearing about the soldiers in Laxdo always being so happy when the prince visits them. Lord Izana, has done so much, he saved two other kingdoms from their horrible rulers. He then assigned two new leaders who are kind towards the people. Those kinds of leaders play a big role for me as a humanitarian. They make me want to be strong and help others. What I would give to meet them, they are kind of like my idols, I look up to them. Oh well, although I am watching Prince Zen I will probably never meet him personally. I mean the castle is for people capable.
When I was with Obi and Torou I was a burden, they would never say it to my face, but that's how I always felt. They had to make sure that I didn't get hurt and they hesitated every time someone threatened them using me. To be honest during those moments I felt like they saw me as a defenseless child.-- Oh wait Zen just left the room. I get the feeling that he's going to find Lord Haruka before Shirayuki. I guess I will stay with Shirayuki since Obi is likely still near Lord Haruka and if Shirayuki is looking for him we will run into each other soon.
