Phoenix, the new recruit

PHOENIX'S POV

After a while of watching the place that was my hell burn to the ground, Jeff decided that that was good enough for my first official kill(s) and we decided to head back to the mansion. "So....I think you're officially one of us now. How does that feel?" he asks.

I just laughed. "Am I now? Will Slender be happy to know that yet another killer has joined the ranks?" Jeff chuckled.

"Phoenix, in all honesty, I think he's just been waiting for you to snap. Even I'm surprised you hadn't until now." Which surprised me, but didn't at the same time.

"Oh, believe me there are times I've wanted to. I genuinely thought I could slaughter them all and feel no remorse. But where was I gonna go? I really didn't want to be locked up in a jail cell for the rest of my life. So I just....I dunno. Put up with their shit because what else was I gonna do. I couldn't run anywhere....."

That talking had led us all the way back to the mansion.  Before we opened the door, Jeff stops me by putting his hand on my shoulder and turning me towards him.

"Phoenix....your eyes are really bright. They're glowing....." he says. I just stared at him in surprise.

"Are they? Clocky said they were doing that the night I cut off Jane's head...." I said curiously. "Maybe it has something to do with my new status, I guess you could say?"

When we opened the door, Slender was there to greet us. I could hear Clocky call out "Is that Phoenix? Is she home?"

Yes, she and Jeffrey have both arrived safely, he responds. Hello, Miss Phoenix, I....oh my, your eyes! How interesting.....

"Are they glowing again? They were doing that the other night, I thought it was so cool!" Clocky said. When she comes over to hug me, she says "Yes, they are!"

Ah, they are indeed. Could it be they do that when your killer side comes out?  Slender asks.

"I only assume that's the reason because they've never done that before....." I said. As I felt more and more like myself, the glow slowly faded away

Ah, it's gone now. It seems my theory was correct," Slender says. I must admit, that's an interesting and nice little touch. Anyway, do come in you two. Dinner has been set aside.

"I helped make it, it's steak!" Clocky said, somewhat nervously. I looked at her in surprise.

"You and Slender are getting along now?" I asked in surprise. Jeff chuckled.

"Are you as surprised as I am?" he asked. Slender huffed.

Our relationship is more civil now. But she still is stubborn and I still wouldn't consider her a friend.

Clocky snorted and elbowed him in the side. "Oh come on Slender, ya know ya love me.

Hmph, Slender says simply. Anyway, it seems we must welcome the newest recruit of the household! Welcome, Phoenix!

"Wait what?" Clocky said, looking from me to Jeff to Slender. "She's a killer now?"

Jeff's permanent smile looked proud. "I think so. We went to her group home and she set the whole damn thing on fire. Took out all those fuckers. It was the best revenge ever!"

Slender looked thoughful, tilting his head to the side. Ah, are you an arsonist, Miss Phoenix? That's an interesting choice indeed. I nodded, swallowing my food.

"I've been fascinated with fire since I was little. Plus, if there's one place I've been wanting to burn down, it was that one."

"It was amazing!" Jeff said. Was he gushing? I could feel my face turning red. "She was so great, and she has the best crazy laugh. It was so great to watch that place burn!"

The four of us made small talk while Jeff and I caught up on dinner. When we went up to bed, Smile followed us with his tail wagging while Onyx crawled his way up my pants leg. Jeff and I cuddled in bed while Smile and Onyx fell asleep together. Jeff was staring at me with a loving expression.

"Phoenix, you were amazing tonight. You really are one of us now, I'm so proud! God, I love you...."

I was glowing at his praise, but then he kissed me, hungrily. I managed to pull away for a second and say "I love you too..." before he pulled my face back to his with a groan. After that....well let's just say it's a wonder we didn't wake up the mansion ;)

AN: hey guys, sorry for the shitty chapter. I'm trying to get my muse back for both of my stories. I'll try to make the next part better, I promise.
