TIME SKIP: 3 WEEKS

PHOENIX'S POV

Since Jane hadn't shown up yet, Slender had loosened the security around the mansion. I don't even know why I was scared in the first place; it had been 5 months and she had yet to show.
The sky was darkening as I started home after a particularly long shift. It was freezing, so Jeff had lent me his hoodie. I had this weird feeling, like I was being watched. I just, wanted to get home as soon as possible. The dagger necklace that Jeff had given me a few weeks ago was warm against my chest, and I clutched it, hoping that holding it in my hand would help me calm down.
I was almost to the mansion when something hopped down from a tree in front of me. "Who's there?" I said in a shaky voice. A cold laugh answered me.
"I'm surprised you don't know who I am. I've heard all about you."
I could just see a pale white woman, with long black hair, black eyes, and wearing a long black dress. I felt like my heart was in my stomach. "Jane Arkensaw."
She laughed unpleasantly. "Oh, so you do know who I am? This just got a lot easier then. If you know who I am, you should know why I'm here."
"No, actually I don't," I said, even though I knew perfectly well why she was there. "Why was that again?"
"Well, you see, everyone in our world has heard all about Jeff's little girlfriend," she said. I heard the emphasis she put on the last word. "I didn't believe it at first, didn't believe that a mortal had somehow tamed him. But here you are, right in front of me...oh, look. You're even wearing his hoodie. How cute," she sneered, taking a threatening step towards me.
"You don't belong here. You don't belong with Jeff. You don't belong around any of us. You're not even a killer. Just a weak, pathetic, defenseless teenage girl. You won't be blocking my way to Jeff any longer!" Her voice had risen to a scream.
"You'll hurt Jeff over my dead body," I snapped. She gave a shout of mirthless laughter.
"Don't you see, stupid girl? That's the plan! Once I dispose of you, I'll lure Jeff here and show him your body. He'll be so overcome with grief, he won't pay attention to anything else. Then, while he's distracted, I'll snuff him out like a candle."
"No," I said firmly. I was terrified.
"Oh? And how are you going to stop me?" she taunted, before taking a wild swing and nailing me in the back of the head, causing me to fall to the ground and for stars to pop in front of my eyes. She then launched herself at me.
Both of us exchanged wild punches, and both of us managed to draw blood. I managed to leave deep scratches on her face and give her a black eye, but then I screamed in pain as she cut my arm with her knife. She was overpowering me, and I knew I was going to die unless I called for backup. Slender! Jane found me! Help!!!

JEFF'S POV

I was staring out the front window worried sick. Where was Phoenix, and why wasn't she back yet? She should have been home by now. Slender was pacing back and forth, and I knew he was as worried as I was.
"Where is she? Can't you try and trace her using that telepathy of yours?"
I cannot trace her unless she is directly trying to contact me Jeffrey. You should know that by now. I'm sure wherever she is, she... He tensed up, and his head turned from side to side, as if he heard someone screaming and was trying to find out where it had come from.
"What?? What the hell is it?" I almost yelled.
Miss Phoenix is in danger, said Slendy in a horrified voice. She has been attacked. She is not far, a few miles from here.
"What do you mean she's been attacked? By who?"
Slender paused, and confirmed my worst fear in one word. Jane.
That bitch was not going to hurt the one human being in the world that was keeping me grounded, the one human being that taught me how to love again. I grabbed my knife and Phoenix's dagger and bolted out the door.

PHOENIX'S POV

I eventually saw a figure running towards me. I was relieved... until I saw who it was. "No! No! Go back to Slender! Please!" To my dismay, Jeff paid no attention to my words and kept advancing. Jane noticed where I was looking and rubbed her hands together.
"Finally... " she said.
"Phoenix, get back, I'll take care of this." Before I could object, Jeff pulled Jane off me and dueled with her, and I was forced to watch the man I loved fight for his life.
Jeff and Jane were pretty evenly matched, and for one glorious half hour it seemed Jeff would triumph... until Slendy showed up. Jeff looked at him and started to say something, but Jane took advantage of Jeff's moment of distraction by clobbering him in the back of the head with a large rock and he dropped, out cold.
"No!" I yelled. Jane snickered at me and had a look of wild triumph on her face as she moved in for the kill.
At that moment, something snapped in my brain and I was filled with an intense, inexpressible rage. Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion as I threw myself at Jane and started punching every inch of her that I could reach. I didn't care about the slashes she managed to land on my face.
She flipped me over and laughed as she prepared to stab me. I noticed my dagger near Jeff, grabbed it, and just as she was about to fall on me, drove it through her heart so hard and far that it protruded out her back. I threw her off me and pushed my dagger down her chest into her stomach. There was no evil glimmer in her black eyes anymore.
As I looked down at her, I found myself starting to laugh. Softly at first, then louder and louder. It sounded wild, insane, uncontrollable, and it was a long time before I was able to stop. I then raised my dagger above my head.
"Sweet dreams," I said to Jane before disconnecting her head from the rest of her body.
I was giggling when Clocky came up to me. "Phoenix, are you okay? Slendy told me everything and... my God, what happened to you?" She noticed the body in two pieces next to me. "Is that...is that Jane? But how..." she trailed off, then said, "Phoenix, your eyes are glowing!"
That stopped my giggling. "They are?" Clocky turned me to Slender, and he jumped back.
They are indeed. It happened right after you took off Jane's head. At this, Clocky turned to me with her mouth open. "You killed Jane??"
I ran over to where Jeff was still laying on the ground, and Clocky followed me. She gasped when she saw Jeff. "Oh my God...."
"I couldn't let her kill him. I...I couldnt...." I started to cry, and Clocky held me. Slender knelt by Jeff and examined him.
He will be alright, he said after a few minutes. Clocky and I both breathed a sign of relief. However, you both need medical attention. We must get back to the mansion.
Clocky looked down at Jane. "Well, we can't leave this here." She picked up Jane's head, and I dragged the body as we followed Slender, who carried Jeff.
When we got back, Slender carried Jeff inside while I stayed out with Clocky. She pointed to Jane. "Whatchu wanna do with her?"
"You got alcohol?" She produced whiskey, and I started collecting firewood. When I had a big enough pile, I laid both parts of Jane in the middle, poured the whiskey all over her, then dropped a lit match on her. She went up in flames. I looked towards the mansion.
Clocky saw me looking. "You can go, I'll stay here." That was all I needed.
I only reluctantly let Slender clean my wounds, I was more worried about Jeff. To my relief, he knocked on the door as Slendy was stitching up my arm. The look of relief in his eyes was immediate, and I squirmed in my seat. As soon as Slendy put the needle down, we ran to each other and hugged as if we never wanted to let go of each other.
"Phoenix! You're okay, thank God...where's Jane?"
"She's burning in the backyard," I answered. Jeff looked at Slendy for further explanation.
Miss Phoenix pulled off a very daring feat, said Slendy. I think she's one of us now. She disposed of Jane and, if my senses are correct, there is a big bonfire happening in the back lawn right now.
"You killed Jane?" Jeff said to me, sounding exactly like Clocky. I nodded, and pointed to my dagger, which was dripping in black blood. He stared at it.
"Holy fuck..." he said.
Fearinf that he was mad at me, I tried to explain. "She knocked you out Jeff. She was gonna kill you. I couldn't let her....I'm sorry..."
He silenced me with a kiss. "Why are you apologizing? Your story makes sense, considering I can't remember anything until up to a half hour ago. You saved my life, and Phoenix, I can't thank you enough for that. I love you so much." He pulled me into a kiss again.
After about five minutes, Slendy cleared his throat and kicked us out, so we joined Clocky. She gave Jeff a big hug when she saw him, and he roared with delight at the bonfire. After a few hours of roasting Weenies and telling ghost stories, we turned in for the night. Jeff and I kissed passionately for a bit, then we fell asleep, holding each other tightly. I'm just glad the worst is over. I'm never letting him go.
