PHOENIX'S POV

I woke up a few hours later, in a strange room. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't my room at the group home, but I wasn't complaining, I wanted to scope out my new surroundings. I threw the covers off of myself and got up. The instant I stood, pain jolted through my body and my knees buckled.

"Ow, Fuck!" I yelled. I regained my posture and looked around.

I noticed that I was in a fairly large red-themed room, with a queen sized bed with a red silk comforter, an oak dresser, a matching bookshelf, and a closet with a mirror. Upon closer inspection I saw that someone had placed Twist and Shout on the bookshelf. I went to the mirror and examined myself: I had bruises all over my body, plus an ugly black eye. I noticed that my hair was slightly damp and my clothes were different; someone had given me a bath and put a different outfit on me.

"Well that was nice...but where am I?" I said to myself. I saw that the door was open, so I ventured down the long and richly carpeted hall, noticing doors with different nameplates on them: CLOCKY AND TOBY. JEFF AND E.J. MASKY AND HOODIE. BEN AND LAUGHING JACK. SALLY AND SMILE. I knew those names, I knew every single one of them. But there was no way....

"Okay, this is a dream, right? I'm dreaming." I said to nobody in particular. There was a long, elaborately carved, winding wooden staircase at the end of the hall. I stopped at the top step. I could hear faint voices.

"Hello?" I called. The voices stopped abruptly. "Hello, can somebody tell me where I am?" A dog gave a loud bark, seemingly in response to me.

"She's awake, can I have her kidney?" asked a male voice.

No, Eyeless, said a firm voice I recognized as Slender's. Curiosity overwhelmed me, and I started to make my way slowly down the staircase. When I reached the bottom, a menagerie of characters stared at me. A red husky type dog with a wide grin was straining eagerly against a leash held by Slender. I could only stare.

Easy Smile, be gentle. We don't want to frighten her, said Slender. Hello, Miss Phoenix, I'm glad you're finally awake. Everyone has been eager to meet you.

"H-Hi," I said weakly, waving. A young girl with brown wavy hair and wearing a tattered pink nightgown jumped up and pointed at me.

"Her eyes are scary!" she said.

Sally! chastened Slender.

"N-no, she's f-fine, I g-get that all the t-time," I stammered.

"S-she sounds l-like m-me," said a boy at the huge dining table, wearing orange goggles and a mouthguard. I noticed he was polishing a hatchet.

Enough, Toby, said Slender. Then, to me, Do you have Tourettes, child?

"No," I answered. "It's just...I can't believe...you all...you guys..."

"Are real?" supplied a tall, monochrome clown I recognized as Laughing Jack.

"Yes!" I exclaimed, putting my hands over my face.

Are you alright, Miss Phoenix? asked Slender, sounding concerned.

"Yes, I'm fine," I answered. "It's just...alot to take in." A male wearing a black hoodie and blue face mask walked up and pinched me on the shoulder. "Ow!" I said. "Thanks, Eyeless."

"No prob," he said, chuckling.

"And no, you cannot have my kidney," I told him. Everyone laughed, even Eyeless.
