It was early in the morning and Jungkook was preparing to go to work after an exhausting day with Min Yoongi yesterday. He did this morning routine and made coffee feeling disappointed that his day with his brother was ruined by freaking Min Yoongi or AGUST B or whatever. Maybe AGUST P? AGUST E? Shaking the thought out of his mind, Jungkook grabbed his gun and headed outside.
On his way out he spotted Jimin walking pass by, although he hid his face under a hoodie Jungkook could somewhat see his face, it was bruised up and he had a cut on his lip. The hood he was wearing was soaking wet and his shoes were covered in mud. He looked as if he was jumped by gang members.
"Hey are you okay? What happened to your face" Jungkook asked as he stopped Jimin by the shoulders.
Jimin who was startled looked up at Jungkook's worried eyes and avoided it immediately . "Mind your own business Detective" Jimin snapped and jerked Jungkook's hands off his shoulders before disappearing back into his house.
Jungkook didn't know why his neighbor was so closed off and cold when he was only trying to help. Ever since they met, Jimin could barely look him in the eyes. Was it because he was working for the police department? Jungkook shrugged and headed to his car while sipping on his coffee.

When Jungkook entered the station he noticed that all his coworkers were crowed around a orange haired man. They were all laughing and having a good time but among all the noise, he heard a familiar voice that was louder than the rest. The voice belonged to the orange haired man. The man soon turned around and noticed Jungkook.
"Ayo Jungkook!" The man yelled out, smiling brightly as he made his way through the crowd to greet jungkook.
Jungkook's face lit up as he recognized the man. "Hoseok !" he yelled back giving the man a big hug.
"I missed you so much pal" Hoseok exclaimed as he tightened the hug.
" I-I missed you t-too" Jungkook struggled as the hug got tighter but he finally managed to push Hoseok off of him.
Jung Hoseok was Jungkook's childhood best friend and his old partner before Taehyung. Due to a car accident, Hoseok spent many months in the hospital recovering. It was a hit and run, and Hoseok was badly injured, when they found his body in the burning car his face was unrecognizable and he was barely breathing, it was a miracle that he survived. Nobody caught the driver who crashed into him but they assumed it was a drunk driver.
"So are you back as in back back?" Jungkook asked amazed at the recovery his friend made.
"Yes I'm back" Hoseok chuckled "but the director won't let me go out into the field for another few weeks leaving me to filing papers" he pouted.
"It's for your own good!" Namjoon yelled from his office causing Jungkook to let out a giggle.
Hoseok rolled and eyes and his eyes fell on Taehyung who looked like he was looking for someone. "So I heard you replaced me" Hoseok smirked elbowing Jungkook in the ribs.
Jungkook flinched to the sudden pain "Hyung it's nothing like that, really, he's jus-"
"I know I'm just teasing you" Hoseok interrupted as he ruffles Jungkook's hair.
Taehyung finally spotted Jungkook and ran over. "Jungkook there's been another body found buried in the woods"
"I guess I'll go file those papers" Hoseok said leaving those two to discuss business.
Jungkook nodded and and left with Teahyung to go investigate the body.

The police dogs had dug up a man covered in blood who was buried in the middle of the woods in a shallow grave. He looked to be around the same age as Jungkook and was heavily built with muscles. But his muscles weren't enough to save his life.
"It looks like there was a struggle" Jungkook said as he examined the crime scene. There were broken branches and destruction everywhere.
"It must have taken a lot of strength to take him down" Teahyung said as he stood over the dead man, staring at the well built muscles that were covered in blood and dirt.
"I guess the killer wasn't strong enough to strangle him, so he just stabbed him to death" Jungkook stated as he saw no red marks on the neck.
"I'm going to take some blood sample and see if I can find the DNA of our killer" Taehyung said as he took a sample of blood.
"This time our killer did make a mistake by going after the wrong guy, he left DNA all over this crime scene and he tried to cover up his kill" Jungkook smirked as he was finally a step closer to his killer.

Back at the station Jungkook was waiting impatiently, pacing back and forth outside of the lab as Taehyung was testing the blood sample. His mind was going crazy and emotions were randomly popping out of him. He was finally going to catch the killer that challenged his pride for years.
"Calm down, I can hear your heart beat all the way from where I'm sitting" Hoseok joked as he waited with Jungkook.
"You don't understand how badly I want to catch this killer. He killed a lot of people and h-"
"I know he ruined your pride" Hoseok interrupted yawning.
Jungkook froze at his comment and blinked blankly "Oh, I was gonna say he's a psychopath"
"Oh" Hoseok blushed at his mistake.
The door opened just in time to save Hoseok from the awkward situation and Taehyung walk out with a piece of paper in his hands.
"What did the results say?" Jungkook eagerly asked with eyes wide open. His heart was beating at a fast pace and his breathing was uncontrollable. He was crazily sweating, finally the moment of his life had come!
"The blood sample belongs to a man name Jimin, Park Jimin"
"What!"
