Jonathan decided to go out to town the next day, and Eleanor went with him. She didn't have a reason to stay with Dio, since he was spending his day at home, waiting for Jonathan to find out about him and Erina kissing no doubt. As Jonathan was walking down some stairs in town, he looked over to see Erina and smiled.
"Hey, Erina!" Jonathan called out to her.
He ran down to meet her, and Erina's eyes widened. She turned away from him, tears brimming her eyes as she thought about how she didn't share her first kiss with him, but instead with Dio. Jonathan looked confused as she bursted out crying and quickly ran away. Jonathan's eyes widened as she took off running.
"Erina, wait!" Jonathan called out.
Eleanor sighed and shook her head. Even if she did step in for the slap Dio was going to give Erina, she knew that because of the kiss Jonathan and Erina's love for each other would be affected for possibly forever.
"This isn't right," Jonathan thought. "What happened?" Jonathan and Eleanor heard laughter coming from behind them, and Jonathan's eyes widened as they turned to see a group of boys.
"Look at that sorry look on his face!" One boy said.
"Go tell him why she ran away!" Another boy said.
"But I just couldn't bear to see JoJo cry!"
Jonathan clenched his fist and raised it.
"Why you..." Jonathan muttered. "What did you do?! What did you do to her?!"
The boys smirked.
"Why don't you ask Eleanor, she was there!" They shouted before they took off. Jonathan's eyes widened and he turned to Eleanor.
"Eleanor?" He asked and she looked down. "What happened?"
Her fists clenched and she bit her lip.
"I'm sorry, JoJo," she said quietly.
"Tell me what happened Eleanor!"
"I-It was Dio. He... He kissed Erina, forcefully that is. He went to hit her too, but I took the hit instead." Jonathan's eyes filled with anger, and his fist clenched.
"Dio!" He shouted, Eleanor stepping back. "So that's why you have a large bruise on your face! He's going to pay dearly for this!"
Jonathan took off running towards the Joestar Mansion, and Eleanor quickly ran after him.
"JoJo!" She shouted, but he didn't listen.
She desperately tried to catch up to him and keep him from doing anything rash, but he was at least a yard ahead of her the whole time. It was clear that Jonathan was the angriest he had been his entire life. In fact, he was so angry it almost looked as if he was covered in flames. They soon got to the Joestar Mansion, Jonathan leaping over the fountain and bursting through the door.
"Dio!" He yelled, seeing Dio reading at the wall opposite the door. Dio set down his book and he quickly got up.
"I wouldn't use my name lightly if I were you!" Dio exclaimed.
Eleanor quickly ran into the house and she stood in between the two boys.
"Jonathan-" Eleanor went to say, but he didn't care.
"This ends now!" Jonathan said as he ran towards Dio, his fist's raised. "I won't let you hurt her or my best friend again! Your fight is with me!"
"So you heard about your darling Erina?" Dio asked in a mocking tone. "Now you want to take revenge with your fists, eh?"
"I won't let you insult her!"
