"Have your wounds healed, Avdol?" Kakyoin asked, his eyes bandaged so he couldn't see the other Crusaders.
"Yes," Avdol said. "But I'm much happier that you'll be alright, Kakyoin."
"So I will. He didn't cut my pupils, so I've been told it will heal soon. In junior high, one of my classmates was hit by a baseball so hard that his eyes was smashed in, but he was fine by the next day. It was just fluid leaking out of his eyeball."
"Seriously?" Polnareff asked, horrified.
"Your classmate was lucky it didn't do permanent damage," Eleanor said.
"Yeah," Kakyoin agreed. "In a few days, I can take off my bandages. I'll catch up with you then. We're less than eight-hundred kilometers from Dio's lair in Cairo. Everyone, please continue on, and be careful."
With that the rest of the Crusaders left, going to fill out some paperwork for the hospital.
"Hmm, the numbers on this receipt from the hospital... Are they Arabic numbers?" Polnareff asked. "It's so confusing. This zero is actually a five, right? And this dot is actually a zero, and this seven is a six? And this wormy-looking one is..."
"A four," Avdol stated. "So, the amount we owe is-"
"Forty-six thousand, three hundred fifty Egyptian pounds?! That's expensive!"
"How cute!" A girl cried, and the Crusaders turned to find several women outside gushing at Iggy.
"What's with this puppy?" one asked.
"It's so unique."
"What in the world? He's chewing gum. Is he waiting for someone?"
"He's so well-behaved."
"And here I thought he was just waiting outside," Avdol stated.
"Good grief," Jotaro said.
"He's a hit with the chicks!" Polnareff exclaimed.
"Girls love cute dogs," Eleanor said with a shrug.
Polnareff huffed and marched outside to the ladies and dog.
"Um, hello?" He asked. "Let me give you some advice. You'd best stay away from that dog. He may seem charming, but in general, he hates people. If you let your guard down-" He was cut off by Iggy leaping up onto his face and latching on. "D-Damn it mutt, get off of me-"
Iggy farted and the women around started laughing.
"So cute!" One exclaimed.
"You get along so well," said another.
"W-We don't get along at all!" Polnareff protested. "Damn it, Iggy! Get off of me!"
"We're heading in, you lovebirds," Joseph said as the rest of the Crusaders exited the hospital.
"M-Mr. Joestar?! Hey, hang on!" Iggy continued farting with a little dog grin. "Y-You, you shitty little dog!"
Eleanor laughed and shook her head.
"They say the ancient Egyptians always buried their dead beyond the Nile's boundaries, where the sun sets," Joseph said as they walked. "That's why the whole city is on the east side of the Nile. All structures built on the west side involve graves and the dead. But our enemies don't care about east or west. They'll attack from every direction."
Everyone stayed sober minded as they crossed the Nile. There was an impending battle, and they all wanted to be ready and alert for whatever came their way. Eleanor and Jotaro kept their hands interlocked, his left and her right so they could still use their dominant hands.
