The next morning Severide strode confidently through the hospital entrance, stopping at the front desk to ask where Savnnah's room was, he continued on his journey. Bouquett of flowers in hand he knocked on the door, "Come in."
Kelly was suprised to see Savannah out of her hospital bed and packing the items that Shay had brought her,"He comes bearing gifts." Kelly joked holding up his flowers and the chocolates from everyone at 51, "These are from everyone at 51 and these are from me."
"Aw Kelly they are beautiful, thank you." Savannah said smelling the flowers and laying them gently on the bed next to the chocolates.
"You've been discharged all ready?" Kelly said watching her pack her bag.
"Well I've been put down for a liver transplant so the doctor said I can come home. But I have to have a week off work and come back every two weeks for check ups until they find a donor."
"Do you need a lift?" Severide asked.
"I was going to ring Shay or Dawson but if you are sure." Savannah said zipping her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.
"Its okay, really." Kelly said spinning the car keys on his finger.
"Can we call into 51 to let cheif know."
"Sure."
"Thanks. I think I have everything." Savannah said quickly scanning round the room.
"Lets roll." He said as she picked up the flowers and chocolate and followed him out.
"Sign here." A nurse said pointing to the gap at the bottom of the page.
Savannah signed her signature at the bottom of the page and gave the pen back to the nurse.
"You are free to go." The nurse said putting the pen back in the pot.
Kelly loosely put his arm around her waist, protective of the still fragile paramedic. Once they were at the car he opened the passenger door for her and put her bag in the back before climbing into the drivers seat.
They drove making small talk about wether she really wanted the operation, and wether she knew any willing donors. Both answers were no.
Once they pulled up outside the fire station Shay was the first one to spot Severide's car. Savannah got out of the car and shut the door as Shay ran over to them both.
"Please tell me your back." She said hugging Savannah gently.
"No, actually I'm here to ask for a week off." Savannah said smiling as they both walked away from the car.
"Oooo who got you the flowers." Shay said looking back in the car.
"Kelly." Savannah said blushing.
"Aww." Shay said,"Told you he liked you."
Savannah gently pushed Shay as they entered the fire station.
"Look who it is!" Herrmann said closing the door to the truck before hugging Savannah.
"Savannah, good to see you." Casey said hugging her.
"Thanks." Savannah said.
"Sav!" Mills called coming over to hug her, "How you doing?"
"Not too bad. Is chief in?" Savannah asked Mills mid hug.
"Yeah. In his office." Mills said releasing her from the hug.
"Okay thanks." Savannah said setting off not noticing Severide following her.
"Kelly, you don't have to come with me." Savannah said turning round so she was walking backwards.
"What if I want to?"
"Then I guess that's okay." Savannah said smirking as she turned back around.
She then felt strong hands on her waist,"You scared me yesterday."
Savannah turned around face to face with Kelly Severide.
"I'm sorry." Savannah said looking at Kelly.
Slowly Kelly brought his hand up to cup her chin and kisses her gently on the lips. Savannah pulled away,"Kelly."
"I love you Savannah." Severide said grabbing hold of her delicate hands, "And always will."
