Burning slowly {part three}

Savannah slumped against the lockers and put her hands over her face to try and prevent the noise of her sobs.

She didn't realise Severide was stood watching her until she felt his firm hand on her shoulder.

"You okay?" he asked.

"No." She sniffed wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

Severide crouched down to her height and put his arm around his shoulders.

"I won't let him hurt you again." he said into her ear.

"I know." she replied putting her head onto Kelly's shoulder.

"You could of spoke to me or Shay if he was hassling you again."

"I didn't want to get re involved." Savannah said truthfully.

"I don't mind, I just don't want you going through it alone." he sighed.

"Thanks Kelly."

Suddenly the alarm went off for the second time today,"Ambulance 61, Truck 81 and squad 3, warehouse fire on Saddle Road."

Severide kissed the top of her head and went of to the truck.

"You okay?" Shay asked as Savannah sat in the ambulance.

"Can we not talk about it?" Savannah said gently.

"Sure." Shay said putting the siren on and following the fire trucks.

Once they caught site of the fire shay spoke,"Kelly really cares about you."

"I know." Savannah set getting out of the ambo.

"Herrmann. Otis. Start the vent." Casey said.

"On it boss." Herrmann said taking Otis to start the vent.

"Mills,Cruz with me. Mouch with Casey." Severide said as they got their helmets on.

The sun had gone behind the clouds and now a cold breeze was blowing the dust which had already settled on the ambulance.

The team disappeared into the smoke clouded building.

"I think Kelly has a thing for you." Shay said gently pushing Savannah.

"No way." She replied blushing.

"I think you two would be so cute together." Shay said giggling.

"Come on Shay seriously. We are acting like ten year olds.' She replied laughing.

Suddenly Savannahs radio crackled to life,"Can we get some help in here Savannah?"

"Yeah coming." Savannah said grabbing a medic kit and helmet.

As Savannah made her way into the building she could here Shay wolf whistling from the ambulance.
