CHAPTER ONE
Maroon Boy

School. The place where you're suggested to be your complete self and do want you to want to do but, in the end, you always end up being hated and judged for it. What's the point of being yourself when you know you're not going to be accepted let alone understood?

That's why Park Jimin kept to himself. He would rather not deal with someone not understanding him, and people not understanding him would only put down his already low self-esteem even more.

Jimin keeps his head allow as he passes through the hallways that flooded with eager students. All of the students weren't eager to get to class, but to catch up with their buddies they haven't seen at all over summer break. As for Jimin, he had no one he could run to and greet after the long lonely summer because he has never had a friend. There was never a time he wasn't lonely.

"Aish, so many people... Why is school so crowded?" Jimin complains to himself as he shuffles through the students. He looks down at his phone. "Great. First class and I'll already be late." He shakes his head before he hurries his small self through the crowd until he reaches his desired classroom.

He peeks through the small window on the door and sees that there's already a full class seated and the teacher has already started class without him. He lets out a sigh but then notices that the teacher sees him through the window.

The teacher runs his fingers through his thick beard as he walks up to the door. The door opens and the tall teacher stands before Jimin, making him look even smaller than he already is. "Late for class, are we?" The teacher looks down at Jimin.

Jimin bows apologetically. "I'm so-so sorry! It's my first day here and I got lost in the flood of students!" His low confidence shows through the shakiness of his voice. 'Dammit, now I'm stuttering.' "I-I swear it wasn't on purpose!" His lip quivers with nervousness.

The teacher rests his hand on his chin, thinking. His eyes widen as a smile grows on his face. "Ah, you must be Jimin! The transferred student," he says as he puts a hand on Jimin's shoulder. "I forgive you kiddo. Coming from homeschooling is hard.

Without a word, Jimin nods, agreeing. He definitely thought moving from homeschooling to a public school was rough. It makes him wonder why his parents would keep him so enclosed from the world but then suddenly throw him into a school with no preparation whatsoever.

The teacher widens the door for Jimin to walk through. Jimin takes hesitant steps into the large room filled with students and the constant buzz of their voices. He finally concluded that he sadly has to accept the fact that he will run into a lot of people at school.

"Class, I would like to draw your attention again," the teacher's voice booms over the chattering of the students. All of the students quickly drop their conversation and put all their eyes on him and... evidently Jimin who was next to him. "This is Park Jimin. He came from homeschooling so make sure you make him feel welcomed."

Jimin gives a small wave, without a verbal greeting. 'Come on, just let me sit down already,' he thinks impatiently. 'This doesn't help my anxiety at all.'

The teacher looks back at Jimin and points to an empty desk in the back corner. "There's an open spot for you over there."

Jimin gives a thankful bow as he walks back to the desk, relieved to have a spot in the back. Sitting in the back meant that no one was behind you and watching you. All you have to worry about is what's ahead of you.

The moment Jimin sits down, the class quickly falls into a rumbling mumble. Jimin averts his eyes from the front and looks down at the ground.

He then checks out his outfit to see if his outfit was the topic of their talk. It wasn't anything too fancy, only a denim jacket with a white T-shirt and black skinny jeans to finish it. He was sure that it wouldn't stand out too much, but he doesn't know the trends these days.

'First class and I'm already late and being talked about,' Jimin sighs. He begins to play with his thumbs, hoping it will help him forget hat he's literally the subject at the moment.

"Don't sweat it, kid. They're all talking about me."

Jimin lifts his head as he sees a boy. His skin was white as snow and his head topped with slightly curly, yet thick maroon hair. His feet rested on top of the desk as he held a sucker in his mouth as if it was a cigarette. He looked like a complete badass for only being a junior. Then again, Jimin forgets what people should act like at certain ages since he never hung around people until now.

The boy takes the sucker out of his mouth and looks at Jimin with an emotionless expression. "Trust me, you have to do way more than be late for class," he says in a monotone voice as he puts the sucker back in his mouth and crosses his arms.

'Center of drama?' Jimin hums to himself. 'Then what did he do to get involved with drama?' Not that he was wanting drama involved with his life. Like Jimin was good enough for anything. 'Dammit, why do I always lead to that?' That simple thought always came to his mind and always hurts him slightly every time.

"Looks like the Heartless Player has already maniplulated the newbie around his finger," one of the students snicker.

Maroon Boy looks over at the student. "Leave the kid alone, he didn't do anything. I was just making it clear that he wasn't the one being talked about." He plays with the sucker between his fingers. "And for you who that has a low IQ, at least use correct grammar, if you want to pick a fight," he scoffs.

The student puts his hands on Maroon Boy's desk and stares him down. "Not everything is about you so stop being so cocky. Get a life," he grumbles.

"Well, I know mine is more interesting than yours because I don't waste my time bullshitting with other people just to raise your pathetic ego." Maroon Boy scoffs.

"Yoongi! Please refrain from using such language," the teacher stops the argument before he continues to write on the board for the lesson plan.

Jimin became bothered by the fact the teacher only stopped when Maroon... or Yoongi was the one talking when in reality, it was that other student. It made him wonder if Yoongi has done other things that made the teacher grow a grudge.

The boys lean away from each other. The student glares down Yoongi. "You're going to break that guy's heart like you did with every boy, girl, or whatever the fuck you date," the student scoffs before walking off.

Jimin sits in silence as he witness the bicker. He looks over at Yoongi who was now relaxed again and putting his feet back up on the desks. His eyes are dark and hooded, making his image even more badass.

Now Jimin understands why everyone falls for the bad boys.
