CHAPTER THIRTEEN
No Romo

Even though the weekend came at the right time during the uneasiness between their friendship, Jimin still dreaded the two days without him.

"Feeling okay, bud?" Jimin's mother asks as she closes the book she just finished which was her second book today.

Jimin glances up for a split second before looking back down at his manga. His droopy head being held up by one of his small arms leaning against the kitchen table. "I guess," he replies in a tone that was inaudible to most ears but his mother is used to his pouting days.

His mother sighs as she takes a seat next to him. She suddenly gasps and cups Jimin's mochi cheeks. "Is there a better condom dealer at your school?"

"Excuse you?" Jimin squeaks, his eyes widened from being caught off guard. "No! I forgot those things were even in there," he struggles free and rubs his eyes before looking back down at his manga.

"I was just checking," she sighs. She lightly taps the table, filling in the silence Jimin wanted to keep. "Seriously though, what's the matter? You rarely have days like this so it must have been something of at least a little bit of importance." She looks down at the table to see Jimin's phone with a notification.

New message from Yoongles

Jimin's mother looks back up at Jimin with soft eyes. "Did something happen between you two?" Her voice is suddenly soft with concern.

"That's the, the problem," Jimin sighs. "I-I don't know w-what's happening anymore," he grumbles as he spins his phone around the table with his finger. He suddenly perks his head up. "He n-never texts first let alone...let alone in the morning!" His heart begins to pound with worry. Yoongi may be close with Jimin, but he is still too lazy to get up early and text.

His mother stops the phone from spinning and holds it up. "If I were you, I would open this text and see this serious message of his," she says as she sets the phone in his hands.

Jimin braces himself as he taps the notification. "Here goes n-nothing," he mumbles as he types in his passcode as the phone unlocks and opens the conversation.

Yoongles: WELL GOOD MORNING

Jimin's jaw drops as he looks over at his mother who couldn't help but laugh. He could tell that she was trying to hold in her laughter but the situation was just too funny.

"Well that was anticlimactic," his mother sighs as she leans back in her chair while shaking her head.

"I..." Jimin was lost for words. Yoongi actually took the words that were resting on his tongue and just threw them away. "I don't even know anymore," he replies shyly as he rubs his eyes.

His mother takes his phone and looks at the message. "So you two must be fine if he's texting you... Is talking in all caps just a thing between you two?" She asks with her eyebrows furrowed, feeling better about her son's friendship.

"I guess so," Jimin chuckles as he gently rests his head on the hands that were on the table. "I have had enough unneeded stress for today," he muffles through his hands as he blows one of his stray ash-brown hair out of his vision.

It reminds him of Yoongi and how his maroon hair nearly blocks his vision. And every time he laughs, he has to brush his hair back to the side so he can see. Wow, even hair will remind Jimin of Yoongi.

"Boy, do you have quite the road ahead, of you" his mother laughs as she stands up from the chair. "Welcome to adulthood," she finishes the conversation before heading back to her office.
