♤ CHAPTER TWO ♤
Heartless PlayerAfter what feels like a century to Jimin, the class bell finally rings. The students rush out the door without the teacher even getting the chance to dismiss the class.
Jimin decided to wait for the flood of people to go first because he would rather not be trampled and make a fool of himself. He puts his backpack on his slim shoulders and heads out the door but is quickly stopped by a voice.
"Hey! Uh, wait up!"
Jimin keeps his head forward since he knows it can't be for him.
"Jimin!"
Okay. Maybe it is for him.
Jimin turns around to see Yoongi chasing after him. He catches up to Jimin, breathing heavily as he attempts to catch his breath. It makes Jimin assume he's probably the biggest couch potato for being tired from running such a short distance. "You're name is Jimin, right?"
Jimin forms a soft smile and nods without a verbal response. He always tries his best to not look so weak but it never works out.
Yoongi tilts his head. "Do you not talk? It's completely okay if you don't."
Jimin looks down at the ground as he takes a breath to prepare himself. "I t-talk," he quickly answers. He feels that the less he says the less likely Yoongi will notice how bad he stutters when he's nervous.
Yoongi mirrors a smile. "Awe, your stuttering just made me soft," he chuckles.. "I'm Yoongi, by the way." His voice feels so inviting at the moment.
Jimin's head spins with wonder on how someone could he close everyone off one moment but then be so nice the next.
"Yeah I c-caught that at class," Jimin giggles as he feels his cheeks burn up.
Yoongi puts his hand over the back of his head with embarrassment. "Yeah... I'm sorry you had to see that. I guess you'll see it often too," his voice wasn't monotoned anymore. It felt like there was real... emotion.
"So what d-did you do that made the center of d-drama?" Jimin couldn't help but wonder and he feels that the moment he said it he will regret it. "I-I mean never m-mind! That's t-to personal," he bows.
Jimin feels a hand rest on his shoulder. "Please, there's no need to be so formal with me, Jimin. Besides, the things I've done aren't a big deal anyway. People just make it seem like it is."
Jimin lifts himself back up and meets Yoongi's eyes. They were brown, but an interesting brown. The kind of brown that made Jimin want to look into those eyes forever, but he didn't know why. "S-Sorry. I d-didn't mean to ask," he apologizes.
"You don't need to apologize so much either. We're friends, so why don't we relax?" Yoongi chuckles, causing his lips to form a smile, a gummy smile.
His laugh made Jimin uncontrollably smile inside and out. He could listen to it all day if he could. But then he realizes that Yoongi just called him his... friend. He hasn't been called that in... well never.
"W-We're friends?" Jimin questions, making sure he heard him correctly. He adverts Yoongi's eyes and looks at the ground.
Yoongi kneels down so their eyes meet again and flashes a funny smile. "Of course, we are friends. I mean, if there's nothing wrong with that. I know we met literally a few minutes ago but you seem chill."
Jimin quickly nods. "N-No! Being friends sounds like a great idea!" He smiles, showing his chipped tooth. It was the first time he has smiled this much in a long time. He normally had nothing to smile about so maybe those times are about to change.
"Yoongi-ah!" A feminine voice calls from behind us.
Jimin's smile drops. Maybe he got a little too over himself and his hopes a little too high. Of course, there will be other people who are friends with Yoongi why would he think there wouldn't be?
The two boys turn their head, greeted by a girl whose skirt was a little... too short. Her curled hair bounces as she walks up to them. "You really do move on quick do you?"
"This bitch," Yoongi rolls his eyes before looking at the girl. "You really need to make a scene, don't you Mija?" he bluntly replies.
The girl scoffs as she flips her hair. "You see? This is why your relationships can't last even one month! You don't even love the people who date you! You just give them what the want," she grumbles as she folds her arms. "And you won't let me do love you back, like how does that work!"
Yoongi shrugs. "I'm not the one who asks them out. They ask me out and I just give them what they want, simple. You asked me out, I said yes and gave you what you wanted."
Mija furrows her eyebrows. "How can you just give someone what they want without loving them? That doesn't work!"
Yoongi's blood begins to boil at her ridiculousness. "That's obviously why none of my relationships have worked out," Yoongi eventually replies. "Use the last of the brain you have and figure it out. I was your boyfriend not your mentor on relationships."
She lets out a sigh as if she couldn't make it anymore obvious that she is pissed off. "Well you're more of a heartless player than anything else," she scoffs.
"And yet you're still here wasting your time on me!" Yoongi smiles. "You can go now," he says in a sarcastic tone, hoping her annoying ass will finally leave.
"What even is your sexuality?! Is it because your gay that you didn't feel anything?!" Mija throws her hands in the air with anger.
The good old assumptions.
"You never took the time to ask while we were dating, so why would I tell you now?" Yoongi just wanted this pointless conversation to end already. "You wouldn't understand anyway."
"Well good luck with your future relationships, if you don't even know what the hell you're attracted to." Mija rolls her eyes as she turns away.
On Mija's way out, she ends up bumping shoulders with Jimin. She looks at him and then Yoongi. "Watch what you're getting yourself into. He will seem like he's interested but then the next moment he leaves you like nothing ever happened between the two of you," she hums in his ear.
Jimin adverts his eyes to the ground, trying to think about all that is happening. Well, not much was happening he just always tends to overthink the simplest of things. He glances back up at Mija with a questionable expression. "Why w-would I..."
As if she knew exactly what he was going to ask, she interrupts me. "And if you don't trust me, there's plenty of other people who have experienced it. He's nothing more than the classic player that will give you love, but in the end, he never feels love for you."
Jimin avoids anymore eye contact with Mija as she struts off. He looks back at Yoongi who is still pissed off about what just went down. Jimin locks himself in his mind with many questions.
A classic player will give love but doesn't want it back? Would it even be called love? It wouldn't be, right? Then again, he fell so quickly for Yoongi, he shouldn't be talking.
Did he really fall for him? Love at first sight isn't a thing, right? They've spoken for a few passing moments, so what is there to like within such a short amount of time?
But when you're a soft-hearted person who doesn't know the truths about the cruel world and falls for someone way too hard, screw time.
