CHAPTER EIGHT
Home Life

Luckily, the rest of the day was drama free. Yoongi is thankful that Jimin doesn't have to go through anything else today.

Each sharing an earbud, the two move their heads to Youngblood by Green Day as they walk down the sidewalk, returning to their homes.

"Who do you think is the Green Day of our generation?" Yoongi asks as he continues to hum the song.

Jimin puts hand on his chin. "W-Wouldn't that be a trick question, because G-Green Day is the Green Day of our generation?" he chuckles.

Yoongi shows his gummy smile as he ruffles Jimin's hair. "I'm proud of you, my little emo!" He coos. He tries to continue to walk but suddenly feels his backpack being held back. He turns behind to see Jimin with his head low and focused on the ground along with his small hands intertwined with his backpack straps. "Hey, is everything okay?"

Jimin presses his lips together and grips Yoongi's backpack strap tighter. "A-am I annoying?" The crack in his voice made Yoongi even more sad.

His smile drops slightly as he looks back at Jimin. He stops walking so he can fully focus on him. "What?! What makes you think that you're annoying?"

"I s-stutter everything I say to you," Jimin shrugs with a weak smile but Yoongi knows he is trying to hide his glistening eyes. "I try s-so hard not to stutter around you but it doesn't w-work!" He yells, a small tear streams down his cheek. "I am a worthless—"

"Jimin!"

Jimin stops to feel Yoongi's arms around him. It feels as if the world has stopped and only focused on them. "Don't say those things about yourself," Yoongi says. Jimin could hear the slight sniffles in his voice. "We haven't known each other for long but trust me on this," Yoongi pulls away and puts both of his hands on Jimin's shoulders. "You're an amazing person. You gave me a chance when no one else would. You don't just assume who someone is. That isn't worthless, Jimin."

Tears were now streaming down Jimin's cheeks like small rivers that glistened in the light. "Y-You mean it?"

Yoongi nods. "I don't even think about your stuttering and when I do it's a good thing! It's a special thing!" He looks back at Jimin and cups his cheeks. "Just like you. You are special, Jimin. And if no one else sees it, please know that I will always think you are."

Jimin puts his hands over Yoongi's. He wants to thank you Yoongi for not leaving him for his childish behavior. But not a single word is able to leave his frozen lips. All he's able to do is sniffle and lean his head against Yoongi's chest.

Yoongi wraps his arms around him. "It's the least I can do," he hums as he rests their heads together.

And the war between Yoongi's heart and brain begun.

Is this what others call love? Making sure that they're happier than you? Wanting their life to be better than yours?

He never asked himself any of these kinds of questions with his exes.

And yet, his heart still doesn't feel a thing for Jimin. But for some reason he still has the need to comfort and help when Jimin needs it and is okay if he doesn't receive anything in return.
