CHAPTER TWENTYSEVEN
Fucked Up

"Chiminie, wake up," his mother softly coos as she slowly opens his bedroom door. "You can't miss spaghetti night."

She fully opens the door. Jimin sits quietly on his bed with his small self wrapped up in his blanket, only his head and his small hands holding the manga being exposed.

With a smile, she sits on the opposite side of the bed. "And here you are in your natural habitat," she chuckles.

"I'm... I'm not really hungry," he mumbles.

She taps his back. "Ah, you're homesick," she says as she stands back up.

He furrows his eyebrows. "But... But I am home." He answers in a questioned tone.

Her smile widens. "Not your version of home though... C'mon now, have at least a few bites. You know you can never miss out of my delicious food, especially my spaghetti," she closes the door behind her.

Jimin plops over on his side, keeping himself wrapped up. "Not my v-version of home?"

"This is it. My boy is all grown up!"

"M-Mum!"

"I'm sorry sweets. I'm just so happy that you've found someone so important to you," she coos, kissing the top of Jimin's head.

"So..." His father leans back in his chair. "Have you two made it official?"

Jimin tilts his head. "O...Official?"

The two parents nod. "Y'know, become boyfriend and boyfriend," his father smiles.

"Oh..." Jimin lowers his head. "I-I never thought of that... We j-just kinda... kinda do our o-own thing."

His mother lifts his head. "And that's okay too! Labels shouldn't determine if feelings are true or not." She presses her lips together. "How long have you known Yoongi? Four to five months? Maybe you could be the one to ask him."

Jimin's eyes widen. His heart begins to pound. Being Yoongi's good friend was one thing... but being his boyfriend?

Thoughts begin to fill his head. "What...What if he doesn't l-like me like that? Then I'll... I'll lose him completely!" His hands begin to uncontrollably shake and his breathing becomes heavy. The thought of losing Yoongi haunts him.

His mother grabs his hands, instantly bringing warmth to his anxiety. "You're not going to lose Yoongi, love. The ones who are meant to be in your life will always find a way to be there."

Tears were now streaming down Jimin's face. "I... I really want Yoongi to be the... the one who's meant to st-stay," he sniffles, quickly wiping away the salty tears.

"I do too," his mother adds, pulling him into a hug.

The three's attention are drawn to the ringing of Jimin's phone.

Call from Yoongles

A smile grows on his father's face.

His mother mirrors the smile. "Welp, would you look at the time! Looks like me and your dad have to go do something that doesn't involve being in here. Bye~" She gives a final kiss on top of Jimin's head before leaving the kitchen with his father.

Jimin looks back down at his vibrating phone. With a deep breath, he accepts the call. Yoongi's face fills his phone. Feeling his cheeks get red, a flush of joy fills him.

"H-Hey~" Jimin coos, his leg beginning to fidget.

Yoongi softly smiles. "Hey Chim." His low, raspy voice resonates through the phone speaker. "How's school been? Any shit go down?"

Jimin glances down at his leg that's bouncing up and down spontaneously. This isn't the first time the two being in a video call, why is he so nervous?

"Uhm..." He swallows hard. "It's...It's been fine... K-Kinda boring since y-you're not, not there," He cups his cheeks with his sweater paws.

Then all of the sudden, something inside Jimin turns, opening his heart.

With a few quick blinks, Jimin brings himself back into the present. "I j-just miss you," he can already feel his tears beginning to form. He takes a deep breath, controlling them. "T-That's all I care about right now," he finishes, resting his head on the table. He can feel his heartbeat begin to rapidly beat at his ribcage, wanting to meet and feel Yoongi's presence.

Yoongi also lays his head on his counter. He moves his finger to the camera, making it fill Jimin's phone screen. "Monday, I'll be back. Hold on for the rest of the week, buddy, okay?"

"O-Okay," Jimin replies, moving his finger to the screen over Yoongi's. His heart begins to race, even though they weren't physically touching.

The two don't move their finger from their phones for a few passing moments. Jimin looks down at the table, feeling his cheeks beginning to burn up.

While Jimin's eyes were away from the screen, Yoongi can't help but smile. He is well aware of how clingy Jimin is, especially to him but it only made Yoongi want to protect him even more.

After a few moments of silence between the screens, Yoongi raises his head. "Hey, this doesn't relate to Yongusn or any of those assholes..." He takes a deep breath.

This is his chance.

"...Would you—"

Yoongi freezes, his eyes staying on Jimin's. He's never seen it until now. Those doe eyes looked far too familiar.

Something breaks inside Yoongi. Whether it's the recent stress about the case lately, or just the trauma of it, the only thing he can see now is Rosé, only alive. And he wants Jimin to stay alive.

"Who are you talking to?"

Jimin's eyebrows furrow as he sees a tall figure stand behind Yoongi. He can barely make out the features of the person.

Yoongi glances behind him to see his worst fear... his father.

Yoongi quickly removes his finger and looks back at the screen and leans in close to the camera. The large man reaches for the device before Yoongi could get a grasp.

Jimin's eyes widen. His heart stops. Fear pumps through his veins. Something about the man made him scared. And not scared for himself...scared for Yoongi.

"No!" Yoongi shouts as he reaches for the phone, causing Jimin's view become
nothing but a blur.

The screen suddenly goes black.
