Sang's POV
* Six Years Ago*
It was right after my 12th birthday, when I made a decision that would change my life forever.You see, when I was 6 years old, my mom began to hurt me. It started with just kneeling on the floor, or sitting on a wobbly old stool for a few hours. But it soon escalated to me kneeling on broken glass, or drinking toxic cocktails, that burned my throat. She began to thrash at me with a whip and cut my skin with knives. Sometimes locking me in chests or cabinets, anywhere that I could fit. Which were abundant, since I was a scrawny thing.
One day it went too far, and she stabbed my eye, so I did the totally rational, smart thing and grabbed some loose change I had found around the house while I was cleaning over the years, and ran. Leaving behind all that I had known. Just the clothes on my back, a worn pair of sneakers, and a small jacket, that was worn thin around my small body.
Remembering my mother's words, 'men are rapists, they will manipulate you and hurt you.' I decided not to go into town. I knew she was wrong most likely and just paranoid but I didn't want to chance it, especially with my new found freedom. I would just go another day.
That thought reverberated through me. Another day, another day I could be free.
Giddily skipping, I chose to go into the woods.
I had walked a couple hours, not looking for anything in particular, when I found a clearing. The dense trees thinning out, as if they were walls protecting something.
I looked at it, and it looked like something from a fairytale. The shingled roof was made of terricota,and bricks for the walls. White painted bricks outlining windows, and some added as accents as well as a slight overhang. It had a large, smoking, brick chimney, and a neatly clipped garden in front with beautiful roses and lavender. Bushes lined up, with other plants and berries, vines with flowers on it, clambering and stretching up the walls.
In the back I saw some more plants growing, just barely visibly behind the cottage.
As I was gawking at the beautiful house, I failed to notice the small black cat coming up to me.
He meowed softly, asking for attention. I smiled at him and picked him up. He sniffed at my hand for a little bit, then curled up in my chest, nuzzling it, and let out a content purr.
I giggled softly at his behavior.
"My my. How did you get here little one? You're quite a ways away from home." Startled, I look up to see a beautiful woman. Her red hair flowed down, her posture making her seem confident and poised. She wore no shoes and a dress with different layers to it, ragged with high slits on either side exposing her long legs. She wore a long black cloak over all of it. Small feathers adorned around her waist and a large one on her hood. I looked up at her eyes, they were cream white, void of any color.
"My eyes are here darling." I looked down at her low cut dress, and nearly screamed. A set of large, purple, glowing eyes on her chest staring at me, right under her collar bones.
She began to laugh, " Well aren't you adorable~," she purred. " I like you, come. We need to fix that eye of yours, it'll do no good if you can't see properly." She beckoned me to follow her as she walked back towards the cottage.
I was hesitant, but I didn't exactly have have anywhere else to go, so I followed after her, cradling the cat to my chest.
